Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max - Which is better? Which one should I choose? When it comes to choosing a smartphone, many people struggle to make a decision, especially when the new model is pretty close to the previous one. This is the case with the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, two smartphones that date back two years and are almost the same size. Let's take a look at their specification in more detail.
Display
Both models have a fairly large display - 6.7 inches for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. But the iPhone 14 Pro Max uses LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED technology, with additional features like 120Hz, Always-On Display and HDR10. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a Super Retina XDR OLED display, but without LTPO technology and with a lower refresh rate (60Hz). However, the display difference between these two models is not that big and is not a headache to choose.
Performance
Both models are powerful, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max is more advanced in this area. It has an Apple A16 Bionic processor (4nm) and an Apple GPU (5-core graphics), while the iPhone 13 Pro Max uses an older processor - the Apple A15 Bionic (5nm) and also has an Apple GPU (5-core graphics). The difference isn't that significant, but it's important to note that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is being touted as a more powerful machine.
Cameras
There's a dramatic difference here - the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a new triple-lens camera, a 48-megapixel main camera, a standard telephoto camera, and an ultra-wide camera. It also has a TOF 3D LiDAR depth scanner. Comparatively, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a standard triple-lens camera - a 12-megapixel main camera, telephoto camera and ultra-wide camera, but no TOF 3D LiDAR scanner. New video app options in the iPhone 14 Pro Max mean you can shoot movies with super clear and vivid colors in Dolby Vision and ProRes formats.
Battery
Another difference between the two models is the battery - the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a slightly larger battery than the iPhone 13 Pro Max - 4323mAh compared to 4352mAh. But it has faster charging than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Fast Charging feature on the iPhone 14 Pro Max allows you to charge up to 50% in 30 minutes, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a longer charge time.
Price and colour range
As you might expect, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a bigger price tag than the iPhone 13 Pro Max - €1,499 compared to €1,250. However, this is to be expected as the iPhone 14 Pro Max does offer additional features after all. Both models come in different colours, with the iPhone 14 Pro Max coming in Space Black, Silver, Gold and Deep Purple, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max in Graphite, Gold, Silver and Sierra Blue.
So, which is better? In our opinion, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the more advanced device. It has a larger display, a more powerful processor, a new camera with an ultra-wide lens, and a TOF 3D LiDAR depth scanner than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the price difference may make the iPhone 13 Pro Max a better choice for those who prefer cheaper models while maintaining high quality.
