Differences between Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro - Which to Choose?
In 2022, exactly on September 7, Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro were presented. Both are very high end, but the question is - which one do I choose? What are the differences between the two models and which one is better?
Let's start with the battery. Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro feature a Li-Ion battery that cannot be removed. The iPhone 14 model offers fast charging for 50% of the battery within 30 minutes. The iPhone 14 Pro model also has fast charging, and 50% charges are also achieved in 30min.
When it comes to SIM cards, the models are relatively different. Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro can work with two SIM cards - Nano-SIM and eSIM. This dual card model can also be used with foreign SIM cards or with two eSIM cards - one for work and one for your personal needs. However, there is one difference between the models - the Apple iPhone 14 Pro offers two Nano-SIMs or dual eSIMs, while the Apple iPhone 14 has one Nano-SIM and one eSIM, or two eSIMs in the US only. So if you need more SIM mixing options, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro could be the better choice.
The Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro are two phones truly one-of-a-kind in composition, using last-generation technologies. The chips on both phones, the Apple A15 Bionic and Apple A16 Bionic, are manufactured on 5nm and 4nm respectively, making them very fast and power efficient.
When it comes to graphics, both models use Apple GPUs (5-core graphics), but the Apple iPhone 14 Pro could be a little better by adding another 100MHz of chip speed.
The models offer storage of 128GB, 256GB or 512GB with 6GB of RAM. But the Apple iPhone 14 Pro also adds the luxury choice of 1TB of storage with the same 6GB of RAM. That means if you carry a lot of apps or files, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro is definitely the better choice.
Obviously there are differences in the screen specs as well. The Apple iPhone 14 has a Super Retina XDR OLED screen size of 6.1 inches and a resolution of 1170 x 2532. It has HDR10 technology, Dolby Vision and 800 nits of HBM brightness. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro also has a Super Retina XDR OLED screen size of 6.1 inches, but with a higher resolution of 1179 x 2556. It features LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED technology and adds 120Hz to all of its capabilities. Additionally, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro offers 1000 nits of typical brightness and 2000 nits of HBM brightness and also has an Always-On display. The differences between the two screens in brightness are important, but they are certainly noticeably smaller than in the case of the battery, memory and SIM cards.
When it comes to PFC and video cameras, the Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro are also very similar. The Apple iPhone 14 has a dual camera sensor - 12MP and 12MP, which can shoot in various resolutions up to 4K@60fps. Apple iPhone 14 Pro has three cameras - 48MP, 12MP and 12MP which can shoot in different resolutions up to 4K@60fps. It is possible that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro could be better, especially when shooting in low-light conditions, as the addition of LiDAR could significantly improve its performance.
Finishing up, there are many differences between the Apple iPhone 14 and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro. Depending on your needs, you might choose the Apple iPhone 14 if a fast battery charge is essential or the Apple iPhone 14 Pro if you need more memory. Differences in the colors and size of the devices won't take up much of your reasons for choosing your phone for now. In the end, both models are really good phones, but the Apple iPhone 14 Pro may have a bit more upside, but that depends entirely on your needs and preferences.
