There appear to be 2 main differences that keep them from bring identical. The 7 has a slightly large screen (0.43" taller) and its battery has almost 50% more capacity than the 5 (3000 mAh vs 2200). The battery capacity increase alone makes the 7 worth the extra $11 or whatever you find the price difference to be.
