Design

The design of the Alcatel 1S is simple. The user gets a completely plastic housing that does not look expensive. On the other hand, one cannot expect otherwise from a budget model. The design is calm and practical. It is even austere. People who do not like shiny and sun-drenched housings will be interested in it.

The device is slim and comfortable enough to work with. The Alcatel 1S is available in two colours: black and blue. The smartphone has no protection against dust and moisture.

Display

Alcatel 1S is equipped with an IPS display with 2.5D protective glass. The screen dimensions are 62×124 mm at a diagonal of 5.5 inches. The resolution is 1440x720 pixels. The aspect ratio is 18:9. The pixel density is around 293 ppi. The bezels are 5 mm wide on the sides, 13 mm on the top and 10 mm on the bottom. The screen occupies about 81% of the total front panel area.

The front of the screen is implemented in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to the appearance of scratches.

Performance

The Alcatel 1S is based on the Spreadtrum SC9863A mobile SoC platform (also known as - Unisoc SC9863A). The configuration of this 28nm SoC includes an 8-core processor containing ARM Cortex-A55 processor cores in two clusters at up to 1.2/1.6 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by an IMG8322 GPU with a core frequency of up to 550 MHz. RAM is 3 GB and internal memory is 32 GB. The manufacturer has provided the possibility of memory expansion - there is a microSD card slot.

Cameras

As a front camera Alcatel 1S uses a single module with a resolution of 5 MP, sensor size 1/5″ and pixel size 1.12 microns. The lens is of 4 lenses with 76 degree viewing angle. The aperture is f/2.8. The focus is fixed. There is a front LED flash!

As you can see, this camera is simple. It does not bode well for perfect photos. The detail is not high. For creating reasonably good selfies, it is acceptable. There is a background blur mode, which is commendable for a budget class smartphone.

The rear camera of the Alcatel 1S consists of two patterns. The second acts as a depth meter for the scene. The main module is 13-megapixel. No optical stabilization is provided. The flash is bright enough. Note that the autofocus works a little slower. The zoom is not optical, but digital. It gives a picture with rather low detail.

Autonomous operation

The battery of the Alcatel 1S has a capacity of 3060 mAh. Given the undemanding in terms of power characteristics, low display resolution, for example, the battery demonstrates high performance. In real life, this smartphone can serve you two days in normal usage mode.

Conclusion

Alcatel 1S is an attractive smartphone. Its price also contributes to this. About the model, we can sincerely say that it offers a practical housing and a quality screen. Autonomous operation is one of its serious pluses. The adequate price is also one of its advantages.

This Alcatel product will not be a bestseller, but it is a practical mobile organizer. With its strict design and reasonable features, it will appeal to many who are not into flagships.
