This is both an interesting move and an excellent occasion for fans of the old model to get a new modern phone with a sentimental character. It impresses with its more angular body, 5-nm chipset Apple A14 Bionic, triple camera with additional LiDAR sensor and more.

Design

Visually, the iPhone 12 Pro makes a good impression. Its front panel is protected by a new ceramic glass, which Apple believes is the strongest compared to all other smartphones in the company. The back of the device is covered with frosted glass with a glossy camera module, the frame is made of polished stainless steel.

The display diagonal of the iPhone 12 Pro is larger, but overall the dimensions of the device are smaller. The rear camera module protrudes slightly above the body, which automatically means that you can place the smartphone on the table without any problems. The back panel of the iPhone 12 Pro is pleasant to the touch, and the construction of the frame does not allow the device to slip out of your hands.

Again, the way it is made is a cause for admiration. All details are tightly touched together. The construction is so strong that you cannot deform the device. In addition, the iPhone 12 Pro is protected against water or dust getting inside the case. It can withstand immersion to a depth of 7.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.

The smartphone is available in four colors: gray, graphite, gold and Pacific Blue.

Display

The display diagonal of the iPhone 12 Pro is 6.1 inches and the resolution is 2532x1170 pixels. The maximum brightness has increased compared to the previous generation. It now amounts to 822 nits. The display supports HDR10 and DolbyVision.

True Tone is on by default, so the color temperature is slightly lowered. The picture is a little warmer. This reduces the strain on the user's vision. If you do not like the feature, you can turn it off at any time from your phone settings.

Productivity

As with other smartphones in the iPhone 12 series, the Pro version is equipped with the new Apple A14 Bionic chipset. What sets it apart from them is the presence of 6 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB. A14 is a 5-nm chipset and contains 6 processors, which are divided into two clusters - 2 production cores and 4 energy efficient.

Cameras

iPhone 12 Pro offers a front camera, which is generally unchanged, but now supports shooting DolbyVision video at up to 30 frames per second. The video quality is identical to what we know from the iPhone 11 Pro. The selfies are natural and of excellent quality.

The iPhone 12 Pro's wide-angle camera plays a major role in the rear panel module. It has large pixels with a size of 1.4 microns, which provide excellent sensitivity to light. The aperture (f / 1.6) ensures high quality night photos.

The ultra-wide-angle camera in the iPhone 12 Pro has not changed at all compared to the previous generation of iPhones. However, it provides more sharpness at the edges of the photos. The telephoto lens provides double optical zoom and optical stabilizer.

With the iPhone 12 Pro in hand, you can count on good shots with a wide dynamic range, as the device has a new HDR3 algorithm. If you use backlight, the quality will be better. Night photos, even without the specially designed mode, turn out perfect.

Although the cameras are the same as in the previous model, the photos are better thanks to the neural processor.

Autonomous work

Compared to last year's iPhone 11 Pro, Apple's new offering offers optimized power consumption. The smartphone supports wired and wireless charging. With Qi charging stations the power reaches 7.5 W, and with MagSafe - 15 W.

Conclusion

Many Apple fans will appreciate the iPhone 12 Pro, as this model seriously resembles the iPhones of the fourth and fifth generation. Compared to them, of course, it is much more technologically advanced. It offers a bunch of modern features. Its dimensions have not changed in practice, but the diagonal of the display is larger.

With the new chipset, the iPhone 12 Pro is more energy efficient and has excellent performance. This will definitely make Android competitors work on improving it. We also notice an improvement in the camera, albeit a small one.

The advantages of the iPhone 12 Pro include MagSafe technology and support for 5G networks.
