Design
The iPhone 6 plus is visually polished down to the smallest detail. The materials from which the casing is made are perfectly selected. The front panel is covered with protective glass, and the sides and back panel are made of a whole piece of aluminum. The only plastic elements are visible in the stripes at the top and bottom of the rear cover. There, they are mandatory for the iPhone 6 plus's antennas to function properly.
If you abstract away from the size of the smartphone, you'll notice how well it fits in your palm. The design is time-honored and slightly updated.
Display
As in the iPhone 6, an IPS matrix is used here. However, the display diagonal is 5.5 inches. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. This is the best screen among those Apple has used in its smartphones so far. In that order - and one of the best on the market. Using Full HD resolution at such a diagonal allows the display to accommodate 401 pixels per inch. The image is impressively clear and detailed.
The iPhone 6 plus screen has perfect colours and viewing angles.
Performance
Despite its larger screen compared to the iPhone 6, this model retains its high performance. It is at the same level. Compared to what we know from the 5s model, it is significantly greater. The interface works without slowdown. The combination of the Apple A8 and the PowerVR GX6450 GPU leave no room for doubt in the qualities of the platform.
The internal storage in the iPhone 6 plus can be 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB. We have a similar solution in the iPhone 6. The most advantageous solution is with 16 GB, however, given the lack of expandable storage, you should think carefully about your choice.
RAM is 1 GB, regardless of configuration. The operating system is iOS 8 and is coupled with a proprietary interface.
Cameras
The main camera in the iPhone 6 plus is an 8-megapixel iSight with a 6-lens lens, f/2.2 aperture, infrared filter, optical stabilization, autofocus and dual True Tone flash. Compared to the iPhone 5s, you'll take really good photos with this smartphone. The camera has more accurate focusing and can shoot slow motion videos at 240 frames per second. Thus, users have the added ability to create exciting and memorable photos as well as videos. Previously, this was not possible.
As for the front-facing camera on the iPhone 6 plus, it is a single, 1.2-megapixel camera and supports FaceTime.
The maximum resolution of the videos you can shoot with this smartphone is 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second. The selfie camera's video capabilities are a bit weaker.
Autonomous operation
The iPhone 6 plus boasts a few interesting features. Among them, one of the most important is autonomous operation. It must be admitted that Apple has recently made serious progress in this direction. With a battery capacity of 2915 mAh, the iPhone 6 plus will provide you with a day and a half of active use. With less load, you can even count on 2 days.
Conclusion
The iPhone 6 plus may not be a typical solution, but it definitely deserves the attention of anyone who is excited about the brand's products. With it, we see a significant increase in the display diagonal. It now accommodates more information. The dimensions of the device are not so large that you do not get used to them after a day or two.
The large screen has many more advantages. It allows you to fully view photos, videos, text information, etc. Using the iPhone 6 plus one-handed can be a challenge for some, but it allows for adaptation.
To all this we must add the picture quality, the perfect craftsmanship, the performance, the cameras and the autonomous operation.
Pros:
- Careful selection of materials
- Quality craftsmanship down to the smallest detail
- Large and colourful display
- Quality picture
- High performance
- Good main camera
- Enviable autonomous performance
- Quality and volume
Minuses:
- If you're not used to a large smartphone, you might find this one awkward too
- The device is a bit heavier than previous models
- No version with 32 GB of internal storage
- No option to increase storage
