Design

The two models already mentioned share one design. However, the iPhone 6s Plus is proportionally larger. Thus, Apple relies on an established look that remains relevant for years to come. The only thing anyone would want to adjust about the look of the iPhone 6s Plus is the bezels around the display. They give the smartphone the look of a toy, especially when the front panel is white. It then strongly contrasts the size and weight of the device. The latter are larger than those of the 6 Plus. And if the dimensions of the housing have increased marginally, the weight has increased by over 20 grams. It is now 192 grams. For some users, the iPhone 6s Plus will not provoke discomfort with this weight. For others, an adaptation will be necessary.

The same applies to the interaction with the iPhone. For people with smaller hands, reaching the side buttons with just one hand will be awkward. They are positioned too high. If the display lock button in general is rarely used, then with the volume buttons, especially during ringing, there will be discomfort.

In other words, using the iPhone 6s Plus will be more uncomfortable for some users than if they were holding an iPhone 6s in their hand.

The case materials in the iPhone 6s Plus have traditionally been chosen with care. The sides and back are made of 7000 series aluminium - an alloy of aluminium and zinc. The faceplate is covered by Ion-X protective glass.

Of course, to the quality of workmanship of the iPhone 6s Plus there are no complaints. All the details of the housing are polished. The transition to a more robust material for iPhones was necessary. There has been criticism of the flexibility of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. According to user feedback, their cases flexed even when the devices were routinely worn in a jeans pocket. This prompted Apple to rethink the choice of materials. Tests show that there is progress in this direction. The iPhone 6s Plus is much sturdier.

We can't help mentioning what colors you can find the smartphone in. There are four - dark grey, silver, gold and rose gold.

Display

The iPhone 6s Plus offers a 5.5-inch touchscreen IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. In terms of image quality and detail, the screen is on the same level as its predecessor. The maximum display brightness is 519 cd/sqm and the minimum is 4.5 cd/sqm. The factory calibration is at a good level.

The automatic brightness adjustment function does an excellent job.

The display is coated with an oleophobic coating. It can be described as effective. To leave fingerprints on the screen of the iPhone 6s Plus is almost impossible. They can be effortlessly cleaned afterwards. The protective glass has been improved compared to the 6 Plus.

The viewing angles of the screen are excellent. The colors look saturated and natural. The colour range is equal to sRGB.

The only major difference from the 6s Plus' predecessor is support for 3D Touch technology. It allows the screen to determine the force of pressure. Thanks to it, if you press the display a little harder in system programs or side apps that support the feature, it can provoke the activation of an additional menu. The pressure is accompanied by a short vibration.

Performance

At the heart of iPhone 6s Plus is a 64-bit dual-core A9 processor running at 1.85 GHz. RAM has been increased to 2 GB compared to 6 Plus. As a result, this allows the smartphone to demonstrate an excellent level of performance. If in the previous iPhone opening a dozen tabs in the browser provoked overload, now they can stay in the background without a problem all day.

Touch ID

The fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 6s Plus is located in the mechanical Home button located below the display. Apple this time has decided to use a new generation fingerprint scanner that works instantly. You just need to bring your thumb to the scanner, it unlocks the iPhone immediately.

The secret to the scanner's amazing speed is due to the two processors that process the data. Each of the chips is responsible for its own task, which is why the overall goal, namely the fingerprint reading, is accomplished faster.

Cameras

The iPhone 6s Plus houses a 12-megapixel iSight camera with f/2.2 aperture, a five-lens system, and also optical stabilization. Cupertino assures that they have improved the sensor, the camera's signal processor and have perfected the Focus Pixels technology.

The result is good. The detail of the photos in a good light level has actually increased. However, there is no significant superiority over the 6 Plus photos.

The 6s Plus is capable of shooting 4K resolution video. It now has optical stabilization when shooting video and a Live Photo mode. The latter feature allows you to create animated photos with sound that resemble gifs. You click on the photo and it comes to life in 3 seconds.

The front camera of iPhone 6s Plus is a 5-megapixel camera.

Autonomous operation

A 2915 mAh battery is provided for iPhone 6s Plus autonomy. Even with active use of the device, you can count on up to 2 days. In continuous video viewing mode and a screen brightness of 100 cd/sqm, you'll have just over 13 hours of autonomous operation. In 3D game play mode - about 8 and a half hours.

Conclusion

The iPhone has the same features as the iPhone 6s, but with a larger display - 5.5 inches! It also has a camera with optical stabilization and can provide the user with better autonomous performance. Due to its size, the iPhone 6s Plus is not suitable for every single palm. Carefully read the details about the size, weight and also the price.
