Design

The iPhone 7 Plus features minimal design differences from previous Apple models. It is immediately noticeable that there are two cameras that are absent during the "normal" week. In the iPhone 7 Plus, you won't find a 3.5mm audio jack port, the Home button has become touch-sensitive, and the case is now IP67 waterproof.

This smartphone impresses with its large screen - 5.5-inch. Its dimensions are similar to those of the Nexus 6P. The size of the case of the iPhone 7 Plus is the same as that of the 6S Plus. The user will feel the device as a "shovel" in his hand. Working with it with one hand is difficult. Competitors in the market are finding more compact solutions while maintaining screen size. Take a look at the Galaxy Note 7 for comparison.

The volume control buttons extend slightly over the housing. This makes it easy to be fingertips. However, it is difficult to adjust the volume during a call.

The most significant changes are seen on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus case. We find the familiar logo in the form of an apple, antennas and two cameras. Everything looks clean and balanced.

Home Button

This is the only button on the front of the phone. It is completely sensory. Thanks to Taptic Engine technology, its interaction is similar to its mechanical version. It is difficult to explain how it was achieved, but it pleases.

Waterproof

Unlike the standard used in the Apple Watch Series 2, the manufacturer does not recommend swimming and taking a shower with the iPhone 7 Plus in hand. However, the device will survive falling into a glass of water.

The smartphone can easily be immersed in fresh water up to a depth of 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes. It is also protected against dust entering the housing.

Display

The iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch display, which is slightly different from last year's model. It is made using IPS technology, registers the compression force - 3D Touch, has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 401 per inch.

Apple claims the screen has an expanded color range and is 25% brighter than the iPhone 6s Plus. Its display includes support for the DCI-P3 color space used in digital cinemas. This makes the photos with the iPhone 7 Plus display camera look more beautiful and more colorful. Its display calibration is practically perfect.

The minimum brightness of the iPhone 7 Plus display is 2 cd/m2 and the maximum brightness is 470 cd/m2. If you use automatic control, the brightness rises to 625 cd/m2 in the street during sunny weather, ensuring excellent screen readability.

Although the resolution of today's flagship models has grown to QHD, Full HD, the iPhone 7 Plus's display doesn't look any worse in their background. The device performs well in any task. It's a pleasure to read from the screen and watch videos.

Productivity

Inside the iPhone 7 Plus is a quad-core Apple A10 Fusion processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Compared to the 6S Plus, the growth is slow, especially impressing with the power of the graphics subsystem. The iPhone 7 Plus is one of the fastest phones of its time.

Cameras

The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 12MP optical stabilization camera, six lens system and a maximum f/1.8 aperture. Compared to previous models, the camera already uses more light, which means that the digital noise level in the photos is lower. There is no serious bokeh effect. The second camera has the same resolution and lies, but with a telephoto lens and f / 2.8 aperture.

During shooting, the user can switch modes from wide-angle to telephoto. This provides a double optical zoom. The iPhone 7 Plus also allows for 10x digital zoom.

It should be noted that the telephoto lens camera does not work perfectly in poor light conditions. Apple has calculated that

f / 2.8 aperture cannot be expected under such conditions.

Overall, the iPhone shoots very well. Complying with the lighting conditions will guarantee you perfect cameras from both cameras.

The front camera of the iPhone 7 Plus is 7MP and supports HDR. It handles its acquisition tasks on a flagship device well enough.

Do you like making videos? With this iPhone you can record videos up to 4K at 30 frames per second. During the shooting itself, you will be able to make a 2x optical zoom or 6x digital.

Battery life

The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 2900mAh battery. It is large enough for one day to work in fairly active mode. If you don't reach out to him so often, you can count on up to 2 days of battery life. In the Geekbench 3 iPhone 7 Plus test, a 50% brightness on the display requires a recharge after 7 hours and 46 minutes.

Conclusion

Excellent design and conservative dimensions, the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual camera and excellent performance - the iPhone 7 Plus is built in the spirit of the Cupertino company tradition. For the time being, this is one of the best smartphones on the market. It has an excellent mobile operating system and superb camera quality.

In terms of functionality in the iPhone 7 Plus, we are finding the innovations we are looking for. The smartphone offers two cameras, water and dust protection and a quality display. At the same time, there is a lack of user-friendly thin frames around the display. The price remains so high.

Pros:

  • Protection against water and dust;
  • Bright and beautiful display;
  • Performance at flagship level;
  • Minimum 32 GB storage;
  • Two cameras for perfect pictures and videos;
  • Quality sound; “Fast fingerprint scanner.

Cons:

  • High price.
