Design

Available in four colours - black, blue, red and green, the BLU G51 Plus has an attractive look. Add to this a relatively light weight and standard dimensions. From a design point of view, it offers no astonishment. It looks like most 2021 devices, but with some differences.

The rounded casing on all sides, without which comfortable handling of the BLU G51 Plus is not possible, is complemented by a textured back panel. It is ribbed, which contributes to the stable grip. This unit feels like it cannot be dropped. Its casing simply does not slip. On the back, you'll also find the rear camera. It is positioned in the top left corner. To the right of it is the fingerprint scanner. It is located at a convenient distance so you can touch it with your finger without thinking.

On the front panel, we see a beautiful screen surrounded by relatively thin bezels. The single selfie camera is placed in a teardrop-shaped notch.

Display

Large screens have settled comfortably among the priorities of the modern consumer. This is exactly why the BLU G51 Plus offers an IPS LCD screen on which you can enjoy movies and games. It has a diagonal of 6.5 inches and a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The aspect ratio is standard.

The manufacturer has tried to provide as large a screen as possible, but looking at the specs, we see that it takes up just over 80% of the front panel. This hints at the size of the bezels and suggests the BLU G51 Plus belongs to the budget family.

In terms of picture quality, be lenient. It's not flagship, but it will satisfy most users. The brightness is at a good level to interact with the device indoors without a problem. You may experience some difficulty reading text when outdoors and it's sunny.

Performance

At the heart of the BLU G51 Plus lies an 8-core Unisoc SC9863A processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSDXC card slot. The configuration is good and will provide you with perfect performance of all daily tasks. Of course, the BLU G51 Plus is not a gaming one. Be careful with using heavy applications and games. Having a memory card slot is a key plus - so you won't worry about quickly using up storage, filling it with photos and videos.

The smartphone runs Android 11 at the factory.

Cameras

The BLU G51 Plus is a smartphone that offers a range of cameras with basic features. A triple camera unit is located on the rear panel. You get a 13-megapixel main camera coupled with a 0.3-megapixel sensor for macro shots and another sensor for depth sensing. For more light, you can trust the LED flash.

The front camera of the BLU G51 Plus is a single, 8-megapixel one. Neither module is wide-angle, so you can't count on spectacular group shots.

In terms of video capture, the most you can get is 1080 pixel resolution video at 30 frames per second.

In other words, the BLU G51 Plus is a model with basic photographic capabilities. To get perfect footage, you'll have to do your best. Especially if you want to post them on social media and earn likes.

Autonomous operation

The BLU G51 Plus is powered by a 4000mAh battery that will give you good autonomous operation. Record performance isn't meant to be reached, but with normal usage of the device you can count on a day or two. A typical charger comes with the smartphone. No fast, wireless or reverse charging technology is supported. In this line of thought, the BLU G51 Plus is a pinch more old-fashioned, but will satisfy the expectations of quite a few users. It is suitable for children or people who are not interested in heavy gaming and innovative technology.

Conclusion

The BLU G51 Plus is a budget smartphone from 2021. As such, it comes with a number of compromises, but also pros. You can't help but love the big screen, beautiful body and its low price. It's the perfect assistant if you're not a gamer or a fan of mobile photography.
