Design

Honor smartphones have always had a specific design vision. They are not developed by blindly following fashion. Honor 50 Pro delights with an interesting balance of the new and the old. The camera module on the back is two symmetrically positioned large circles. They look spectacular and memorable.

The Honor 50 Pro comes in several exciting colors, which we will simplistically refer to as green, black, red and crystal. The last one looks interesting and will appeal to youngsters.

The face deserves high praise. The almost complete absence of frames suggests the modern design of the device and its aspiration to meet the taste of the most demanding.

All this is realised in a device that has an impressively light weight and comfortable dimensions. For maximum service, it is protected to IP68 standard - i.e. it has protection against splash, water and dust.

Display

The Honor 50 Pro is equipped with a 6.72-inch curved OLED screen with a resolution of 1236 x 2676 and 439 pixel density. The picture impresses with details, expressiveness and vivid colors. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, which matches the model's claims. Users will enjoy a full experience no matter what content they are viewing.

The company has provided an eye-friendly operation mode.

Performance

One of the positive features of the Honor 50 Pro is its high performance. This is due to the skillful selection of technical parameters. Underneath the exciting look of the smartphone lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, which consists of an 8-core processor and is an improved version of the Snapdragon 768G. The graphics is assigned to Adreno 642L and as per the manufacturer's assertions, it increases the performance in rendering images up to 40%. There are two modifications on the market - with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The latter cannot be increased, which leaves users with their hands somewhat tied.

The Snapdragon 778G platform is very strong and you won't experience any discomfort while running various apps and games.

Factory-wise, the smartphone runs on Android 11 operating system, the company's Magic UI 4.2 and Google services.

Cameras

The Honor 50 Pro is equipped with an exciting array of cameras. The rear one is quad camera and is complemented by LED flash. The main module is a 108-megapixel, wide-angle, f/1.9 lens. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree angle of view, a macro camera and a sensor to measure the depth of the scene follow. The front camera is in turn dual. It consists of a 32-megapixel wide-angle module and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle one. To take top shots with it, Honor has provided a dual-LED flash. With the ultrawide-angle camera, you'll be able to capture a lot more objects and faces in a single frame. The mode for shooting subjects on the go has been improved.

If you love to capture videos, you should know that the Honor 50 Pro's cameras support 4K quality recording at 30 frames per second. This smartphone will become a favourite for vloggers who are gaining more and more popularity on the internet.

Autonomous operation

Honor 50 Pro is equipped with one of the latest technologies, allowing it to improve energy efficiency and charging. Its battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. It is non-removable and lithium polymer. It is rechargeable using a 100W charger. So in just 25 minutes you can count on a new 100%. With moderate use, you can count on a charge for up to a day and a half - two. Continuously watching videos or playing games will expend the charge much faster.

Conclusion

The year 2020 has been a tough one for Honor, but that hasn't stopped the company from continuing to evolve and find its way to the consumer's heart. Thus, in June 2021, the Honor 50 Pro hit the market. It impresses with a modern look and interesting texture. The screen is more than amazing - large enough, colorful and with an enviable refresh rate.

To the pros of the model we must point out the autonomous operation, support for fast charging technology and the flawlessly working fingerprint scanner, which is built into the screen. The platform and the camera application also get high marks.
