The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro models also meet this definition. They were introduced in Paris and represent a continuation of P10 and P10 Plus. There are serious differences between the two generations.

Design

Even in the visual part, the new P20 models are quite different from their predecessors. The matte finish has completely disappeared. The surfaces are smooth and shiny. The pages are embedded with metal that is polished to a degree of mirror image.

The front and back panels are glass, with the back wall so expressive that the whole shines under the sun's rays. Here you can see your own reflection. It is as if you have a mirror in front of you.

From what has been described so far, the Huawei P20 Pro's body is slippery. The smartphone is reasonably heavy and, given the streamlined shapes, a protective case is needed.

The screen of the Huawei P20 Pro has rounded corners. Above it is an LED indicator.

The smartphone comes in two solid navy blue colors: one just navy blue and the other with a shimmer from blue to purple. The latter was developed jointly with the world-renowned company Pantone. They call it "dusk".

Display

The Huawei P20 Pro is equipped with an OLED display covered with 2.5 D-glass. The physical dimensions of the screen are 67 × 140 mm with a diagonal of 6.1 inches. The aspect ratio is 19:9. The screen resolution is 2240 × 1080 with a dot density of about 408 ppi. The frame around the screen is 3 mm thick, about 1 cm below and below.

The user has the ability to use an automatic brightness adjustment based on the operation of the light sensor. Multi-touch technology allows up to 10 simultaneous touches to be recorded. Work with gloves is supported. It is explicitly included in the settings.

The front surface of the Huawei P20 Pro screen is made of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface that is resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-reflective properties of the screen are no worse than those of Google Nexus 7 (2013).

Productivity

The Huawei P20 Pro is built on a modern Huawei mobile platform - the single-crystal HiSilicon Kirin 970 system. The chip is made using a 10nm technology process. The SoC configuration includes two clusters of four processor cores: ARM Cortex-A73 up to 2.36 GHz and ARM Cortex-A53 up to 1.8 GHz. The RAM is 6GB and the storage is 128GB. The smartphone does not support a memory card slot.

HiSilicon Kirin 970 is the flagship platform that currently handles all of Huawei's top smartphones. The developers themselves define the chip as "the first neural computing support process to have a separate Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled neural computing module." Judging by the tests, the Kirin 970 gives way to the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, but outperforms a bunch of other rivals on the market.

The user with the Huawei P20 Pro in hand will not experience any problems in their daily work. Productivity is at an extremely high level. The smartphone is powerful and has a significant amount of productivity for future updates.

Camera

The front camera of the Huawei P20 Pro has received a 24-megapixel sensor. The lens has an aperture of f/2.0 and a fixed focus. There is a mode for decorating portraits with 10 steps. The blurring effect of the background is also realized.

It should be noted that the company has included the Super Beauty mode by default. If you are not a fan of porcelain faces without skin texture, you will need to turn off the mode from the settings. One of the highlights of the Huawei P20 Pro is the availability of a triple Leica main camera. Two modules use the usual Huawei work scheme. The RGB module has a resolution of 40 MP with a 1/1.7 matrix. It is complemented by a 20 MP monochrome module with a 1/2.7 matrix. The second module is also equipped with a bright f /1.6  lens. It receives a lot of light and is responsible for detailing photos and eliminating noise. When shooting with the main camera, you can get 40-megapixel stills. However, this result will certainly please you. The sensor has a more complex filter than usual. The color resolution of the photos is lower. The resolution of the monochrome module is not enough to completely correct the situation. Experts recommend using a 10-megapixel shooting mode. It is he who is the default.

In addition to the modules already mentioned, the smartphone also has an 8-megapixel module with a 1/4 matrix with a telephoto lens offering a three-fold optical zoom.

The Huawei P20 Pro's camera can shoot video at maximum 4K resolution at 30 frames per second and 1080 resolution at 60 frames per second. The manufacturer has provided hybrid stabilization.

Video Quality?  Superb, the picture is bright and clear, the fast and adequate autofocus does a great job. The detail is high. The sound is clear and the noise canceling system works properly.

Battery life

The Huawei P20 Pro battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. Provides a low level of battery life for the smartphone. When playing heavy games, it is noticeable that the housing is slightly heated. Under real conditions and normal operation, this smartphone will serve you until late in the evening.

Conclusion

The Huawei P20 Pro is unique with its triple camera. When it launches the smartphone, it immediately ranks the smartphone at the forefront of image quality. This model is yet another proof that the Chinese company has committed itself every time to delighting consumers around the world with even higher quality of its products.

The only downside to the Huawei P20 Pro is the risk of high heat. In game mode, battery life is seriously affected. With all the other features, the smartphone enjoys high performance. Most of which are excellent.
