The Huawei P8 Lite, which came to market in 2017, differs from its predecessor in its design, RAM, camera matrix and even display size. It is a mid-budget device based on the HiSilicon Kirin 655. It is equipped with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and a 12-megapixel camera with a sensor like the one from the Huawei P9 model.
There's nothing unusual about the design of the Huawei P8 Lite's body. However, it looks good. The front and back surfaces are made of glass with 2.5D effect. On the sides, we see a plastic whose surface resembles aluminum. The glass is not ordinary - it is Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
In this Huawei model, the user gets a 5.2-inch diagonal matrix. From a subjective point of view, this diagonal is optimal. It is comfortable to read web pages and the images are clear enough. Of course, if you prefer to play on your phone, models with a larger diagonal are preferable.
The IPS matrix is implemented using OGS technology - a typical solution for a modern mid-range phone. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. Up to 10 simultaneous touches are supported. There is no oleophobic coating.
The smartphone is based on a proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC. It uses 16nm FinFET Plus process technology. In other words, the Huawei P8 Lite runs on an 8-core solution, in which 4 Cortex-A53 cores are clocked at 2.1 GHz and another four at up to 1.7 GHz. The video subsystem is based on the Mali-T830MP2.
The Huawei P8 Lite is available in two variants - with 3 GB and 16 GB, as well as with 4 GB and 32 GB of memory. Keep this in mind when considering buying the device.
In almost all previous models of Huawei, Sony matrices are used. The main camera on the Huawei P8 Lite is a 12-megapixel one. Its lens consists of 5 spherical lies with an aperture of f/2.2. The sensor features an increased pixel size (1.25 µm) and a fairly fast autofocus.
The photos turn out quite well considering the price of the model. In a room and in the evening time, the camera's qualities show up quite well. Again, you can take good photos.
The front camera of the Huawei P8 Lite is 8-megapixel (f/2.0, pixel size 1.4 microns) and is rated as good. It sets the white balance correctly and offers not bad detail.
Among the Huawei P8 Lite's not-so-strong points is video shooting. The most the phone is capable of is capturing video in FullHD/30fps format. Modest, but tolerable. The manufacturer has provided the ability to record Slow Mo in VGA format - 120 frames per second. In the settings you can manually adjust the parameters.
Huawei P8 Lite has turned out pleasant enough. It has a cute look, normal specs for its price, it is adequately optimized. The absence of oleophobic coating can be corrected.
