Huawei P9 lite review

If memory serves, mini flagships are a Samsung invention. Not long after, the company abandoned this idea and offered a more suitable for modern consumers series of phones - Galaxy A. Other companies have also decided to try their hand in the mini industry, and that's why today we'll take a look at one such representative - Huawei's mini flagship - the P9 lite.

Before we reveal its full specs, we'll say that the Huawei P9 lite can hardly be called a true mini version of the P9. Yes, they have similar names, formally similar design, size and weight, but in practice they are different. There are significant technical differences between the flagship and the lite version.

Design

Most Huawei smartphones don't look bad. This can also be said about the Huawei P9 lite. With peculiarities in the housing material does not shine, but it is attractive in appearance. The rear panel of the model is solved originally. There we see a fingerprint scanner and a flash.

The low weight of the smartphone makes it an ideal solution for people who do not like "bricks". Huawei P9 lite offers a missed call indicator. With it, you'll be able to work with one hand with ease. The fingerprint scanner is not only responsible for security, but also used to scroll through photos in the gallery, remove notifications from the panel, etc.

Display

The majority of the Huawei P9 lite's front panel is a 5.2-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution. It is covered with a flat protective glass with an oleophobic coating.

Visually, the bezels around the screen are quite thin. The screen is characterised by a brightness of 5 to 411 cd/m², contrast - 1 to 781. I.e. you get a normal screen. Images are easy to read when you are outside and it is sunny.

Huawei P9 lite allows you to operate it even if you are wearing gloves.

Performance and memory

This Huawei model is based on the HiSilicon Kirin 650 platform, familiar to us from the Huawei GT3. It is complemented by 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The manufacturer has provided a hybrid slot for inserting either two NanoSIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card.

Against the competitors, Huawei P9 lite features a pretty quality speaker. You won't have a hard time hearing someone ringing you.

Cameras

Huawei P9 lite is equipped with a main camera with 13 MP resolution and f/2.0 aperture. The flash consists of a single diode. The front camera is an 8-megapixel, f/2.0. The main unit shoots Full HD video with electronic stabilization, while the front shoots HD only.

For the main camera, Huawei has provided quite a few shooting modes. There's a separate "Delicious Food" mode, and also the usual HDR and manual settings. Night shooting has also been thought of.

For a mid-range smartphone, the Huawei P9 lite doesn't shoot badly. Yes, there are noises in the room, but the footage remains acceptable by modern standards.

Autonomous operation

Huawei P9 lite is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery. It offers the user the confidence of having a phone at their disposal throughout the day.

Operating system

The factory Huawei P9 lite runs on Android 6.0 operating system and EMUI 4.1 interface.

Conclusion

The Huawei P9 lite is a mid-priced device that offers satisfactory battery life, performance, and photo and video quality.
