Design

In the ergonomic Huawei Y6P, you won't find unprecedented things in its looks. In front of you is a smartphone with a typical design for 2020. What will appeal to discerning users are the multicolored back covers with overflows. The live effects are very pleasing. They can not be described in words.

The dimensions of the Huawei Y6P are 159.1 x 74.1 x 9 mm. On the rear panel is located the fingerprint scanner. With its help, you will reliably protect your personal data.

Display

This model of Huawei has a typical IPS matrix, typical for the budget segment. The display is excellent and with an inspiringly large diagonal - 6.3 inches. The aspect ratio is 20:9, the resolution is 1600 x 720 pixels. The density per inch is 278 pixels. The display occupies 81.3% of the front panel.

The viewing angles are maximum and the contrast is second to none. Black color is deep. On screen, it almost blends in with the black bezels. Brightness is decent, but not record-breaking. On the street in sunny weather, the display remains legible for the most part. For the money - the result is satisfactory.

Performance

The Huawei Y6P is based on the Mediatek MT6762R Helio P22 chipset, implemented on 12-nm technology. The processor is 8-core - four Cortex-A53 cores at 2 GHz and 4 - at 1.5 GHz. The graphics accelerator is a PowerVR GE8320.

The chipset is not one of the newest on the market. However, it is among the most popular in budget smartphones. It provides sufficient performance in non-heavy games and too labor-intensive tasks.

As for the memory, several versions are available on the market - 3/32 GB, 3/64 GB and 4/64 GB. The permanent memory is eMMC 5.1 type. I.e. medium fast by today's standards. File operations take some time, as well as installing applications and storing files. Huawei has provided a separate memory card slot - microSDXC.

Operating system is Android 10 combined with EMUI 10.1 interface.

Cameras

In the camera software of Huawei Y6P, you will not encounter the modern artificial intelligence support. Because of this, a budget MTK chip is used in the smartphone, not a proprietary Huawei Kirin. You can judge for yourself whether this is a minus or not. Some users enjoy the capabilities of artificial intelligence, while others criticize its creations as unnatural.

The Huawei Y6P's main camera consists of three modules - a 13 MP main module with a not bad f/1.8 aperture, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle module (120 degrees) and a 2 MP, f/2.4 depth-of-frame sensor.

You won't find a separate night mode in the smartphone. Photos in the dark hours of the day turn out poor in terms of detail. For this class of devices, the frames turn out decent.

The ultra-wide camera is typical for this class, and the depth metering module provides a solvable "Iris" operation, where the background is blurred. The latter works satisfactorily well. You can adjust the bokeh effect.

Of the features we should mention the LED flash, HDR and panorama.

Shooting a video with Huawei Y6P will work out for you on a not bad level. The videos will have a resolution of 1080 pixels and at 30 frames per second. This benchmark is on par with the standard for the budget segment.

The front camera is not bad. It is a single 8 MP. It does well in video calling and for taking selfies of decent quality. There is a beautification mode.

Autonomous operation

Huawei Y6P has a 5000 mAh battery capacity. Given the smartphone's features, the charge is consumed efficiently. The screen, for example, has a low resolution, which definitely prolongs the autonomous work.

Recharging the Huawei Y6P happens in just over two hours. There is an inverse charging function, ie you can use the device in the capacity of an external battery. You need an OTG adapter.

Conclusion

Huawei Y6P is an easy to use smartphone that you can buy at a bargain price. It looks contemporary. Pleases with quality craftsmanship and a decent screen. It is the perfect solution for an unpretentious user.

The key trump of Huawei Y6P is its main camera and excellent autonomous performance.

The smartphone does not support Google services. In their place comes the AppGallery app, which since its release has enriched quite a lot and offers more and more popular software.
