Design
The Motorola Edge has a nice contemporary look. For its back, plastic is used. The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass, the frame is made of aluminum. The back looks great. We can praise it for its sturdiness.
The company's designers have given up using massive squares or rectangles for the camera modules in the layout of the Motorola Edge's look. Here they are grouped in a pillar form.
Motorola Edge is available in two colours - Solar Black and Midnight Magenta.
From the model specs we also learn that the device has protection against water splashes. Its dimensions are: 162 x 72 x 9.3 mm. Weight: 188 grams.
Display
The display of the Motorola Edge is identical to the one in the flagship version. The screen bears the cute name Endless Edge and has strongly rounded side edges.
The 6.7-inch OLED matrix has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. This screen is capable of 90 Hz image refresh rate. Among other features, we must highlight the cut-out in the upper left corner of the selfie camera window and the fingerprint scanner below the screen.
Processor
At the heart of the cute Motorola Edge lies the Snapdragon 765G. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone supports 5G networks. We can define it as a satisfactory performance solution. For gaming enthusiasts, a Qualcomm Adreno 620 graphics chipset has been chosen.
The internal memory is 128 GB and the RAM is 4 or 6 GB. The smartphone has a microSDXC memory card slot. It is combined with one of the SIM cards, which means that the user will have to choose - either two nano SIM cards or one plus memory card.
In terms of communications and interface, the Motorola Edge has all the merits sought after in 2020 - from NFC to Bluetooth version 5.1. The operating system is Android 10.
Camera
Moving on to the camera capabilities. The main camera unit includes four sensors. The main one is 64-megapixel (f/1.8) and has not received optical stabilization. The phone module is 8 MP. It has a double optical zoom. The wide-angle camera is 16 MP. The depth sensor is almost identical in the Edge+. For example, it can't shoot 6K videos.
The front-facing camera is 25 MP and can shoot 1080 pixel resolution videos.
Autonomous operation
The battery capacity of the Motorola Edge is 4500 mAh. It is quite sufficient to achieve a good level of autonomy given the power-efficient screen and processor. The manufacturer has ensured support of fast charging technology (18W).
Conclusion
Motorola Edge is a proof that the company still knows how to balance the features so as to offer competitive and practical devices at an affordable price. The smartphone delights with a large screen, excellent performance and decent cameras. We must also add a pleasant appearance and the presence of stereo speakers.
