Design

Motorola smartphones have always been distinguished by their design. It often creates a feeling of solidity and strength. The same goes for the Moto E40. No matter which color you choose, it is certain that you will have a stylish device in your hands. Look at the back - it's nicely textured with curly lines. This solution helps keep the Moto E40 stable.

On the rear panel in the already traditional position - top left, is positioned the rear camera. It is far enough away so that you do not touch the lenses with your fingers. You will also find a fingerprint scanner on the back. It is beautifully integrated with the developer's logo.

The frames around the display also make a good impression. They are satisfactorily thin. The selfie camera stands out with its layout and occupies a very small part of the OSG panel.

As the body of the Moto E40 is made of plastic, its weight is quite light - 165 grams. This makes it one of the lightest on the market.

Display

Moto E40 has a more or less large display. Now there are competitors on the market with a larger diagonal. Its screen resolution is modest - only HD +, which immediately affects the picture. A good sign is the increased brightness - it has a frequency of up to 90 Hz.

Productivity

Beneath the beautiful exterior of the Moto E40 lies the infamous 8-core Unisoc T700 processor, combined with 4 GB of RAM and a Mali G52MC2 graphics accelerator. The operating system is Android 11. Motorola has thought of gamers. The chipset successfully ensures the smoothness of the gaming process, even when playing resource-intensive games.

Moto E40 is available in one modification - with 64 GB internal storage. If you think you don't have enough, you can increase it using the memory card slot provided.

Cameras

The rear panel of the Moto E40 has a triple camera. Its main lens is 48-megapixel and does a good job of creating photos and videos in daylight. The detail and colors are decent and you can even do the editing before sharing the footage on social media. With regard to night photos, these good impressions do not apply. If you need a smartphone to capture evening events, choose a more expensive Android model.

I must say a few words about the other two modules of the rear camera. They are 2-megapixel and have individual roles. One is for macro shots and the other is for bokeh. In Macro Vision mode you will be able to get 4 times closer to the desired object.

The Moto E40's selfie camera is 8-megapixel and allows you to record videos with a resolution of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. Take advantage of the Face Beauty mode to erase unwanted wrinkles or differences in complexion. They are automatically smoothed.

Autonomous work

The smartphone has a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Given the included 10 W charger, you will need to plan for a few hours to recharge. According to the manufacturer, the charge is sufficient for 40 hours of continuous use. With it you can stream music for 75 hours, watch videos up to 14 hours or surf the Internet non-stop for 10 hours.

Conclusion

Moto E40 is a smartphone with a modern look, which offers a balance of useful features and trade-offs. It has a good screen large enough to comfortably enjoy a variety of content. At the same time, a compromise has been made with resolution and brightness.

The company's desire to enhance the photographic capabilities of the smartphone makes a good impression. In the camera menu you will find useful modes that will make it easier for you to take beautiful photos and videos.

Finally, we must mention the enviable capacity of the battery. It ensures that you do not have to constantly reach for the charger.

Competitors

In the Motorola family you can find at least a few alternatives to the Moto E40. We draw your attention to the Moto G9 Plus.
