Motorola Moto G31 review

Near the end of 2021, Motorola decided to introduce a new addition to its ranks. Given the huge variety on the market for cheap smartphones, this step was a bold and excellent request for the attention of the user. This is the Moto G31 model. It does not support 5G networks, but has other advantages. For example, it offers a relatively clean Android interface, a decent set of cameras and a beautiful vision.

Design

Moto G31 is available in two colors - blue and gray. Both colors look as clean as possible, but elegant. You will be pleased with the quality of workmanship of the smartphone. It has curved edges and a textured back. As a result, it will lie nicely in your palm.

The case is made entirely of plastic and has very light protection against moisture (IPX2 standard). Its compact size predisposes to a stable grip, and the weight gives the Moto G31 a place among the lightest devices on the market.

The rear panel has a triple camera in the traditional upper left corner. The company logo is modestly positioned next to it. This gives the back of the Moto G31 a request for maximum cleanliness. You can easily put it in a case to give it a more spectacular look.

Display

Moto G31 has a 6.4-megapixel AMOLED screen, which is characterized by bright colors, but the refresh rate is only 60 Hz. О Impressive depth of black color. It is suitable for watching movies and using various applications.

The screen resolution is 1080 x 2400 pixels, which deserves respect, but in the absence of a higher refresh rate, the maximum effect is absent.

The brightness level is sufficient for comfortable use of the Moto G31 indoors, but in some cases outdoors you may have difficulty.

Productivity

As a budget device, the Moto G31 cannot offer great performance. It runs on MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM. You can choose between two modifications - with 64 or 128 GB of storage. Motorola has a memory card slot, so there is no need to worry about storing photos, videos and other information. You have a plan B.

The Moto G31 is definitely not a smartphone that can be used in multi-tasking mode. He does not have enough power for that. Starting heavy games will eventually overheat, but not stop the device.

By default, the Moto G31 runs on Android 11 and is devoid of unnecessary application load. At the user's disposal is Moto Actions - the ability to control the device with gestures.

Cameras

Moto G31 has a triple rear camera and a single front, which is perfect for selfies and video calls. The main module of the rear panel is 50-megapixel and is complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. The latter is charged with the task of creating a bokeh effect in portrait photography. For fans of macro photography, the third lens is 2-megapixel.

Given these features, it should be noted that the rear camera of the Moto G31 is one of its main advantages. Most daylight photos will feature natural colors and good dynamic range. Feel free to use the ultra-wide angle to create exciting panoramas and portraits. For dark shots, use night mode. It significantly improves the end result.

Autonomous work

Moto G31 has a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which lately feels like something completely standard. This charge will be enough for a few days, as long as you do not use the device too often.

The manufacturer has provided a charger with a power of only 10W, and wireless charging is missing. The best time to recharge will be at night while you sleep.

Conclusion

If you want a new device that is not expensive, choose the Moto G31. This device is comfortable to hold, light and pleasant to the touch. There is a slight protection against splashes. It will impress you with a camera that is easy to use and offers decent results for this price range. Definitely your new phone if you don't care about 5G networks.

The main reasons why you can think of another model on the market are its speed and security. The Moto G31 is not the slowest, but it is definitely not the fastest. It will be a disappointment for gamers, as well as for people who have a habit of doing several things at once on their phone.

If you are looking for a smartphone with better protection, the Moto G31 cannot provide it. It also does not impress with innovative technology and memorable vision.
