Intro

In recent years, OnePlus has stood out in the market with its approach to consumers. The company's flagship solutions have become famous for their low price. This immediately gained a mass of fans who eagerly awaited the next models.  However, from generation to generation, there has been a gradual appreciation of OnePlus products. Thus, in 2019, the manufacturer decided to return to its "roots". It released two models, the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. The first of them is slightly cheaper than the second, and therefore the chance to reap more serious success in the market is great.

Before reading the full review, you can familiarize yourself with the detailed OnePlus 7T specs or watch the video below the article.

OnePlus 7 Pro represents one of the most tech flagships of this year. It wows with its display and camera that tops DxOMark's camera phone rankings. Against this backdrop, it makes sense that the OnePlus 7 will remain in the shadows, but not for long. It is an improved version of the OnePlus 6T, say experts. It also offers enviable state-of-the-art specs, a successful and time-tested design and a satisfactory level of photo and video quality.

How true is this? Let's find out.

Design

Compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 6T, the design of the OnePlus 7T has barely changed. There are the same combination of glass and metal. We see the familiar rounded edges, dual camera on the rear panel, a drop-shaped notch at the top of the screen and a thin bezel underneath. In comparison, in the OnePlus 7 Pro model, the issue was solved differently. The front-facing camera was pull-out.

Parameters of the OnePlus 7T - 160.9 x 74.4 x 8.1 mm. The weight of the model is only 190 grams. It is available in two colors - blue and silver.

Display

On the front panel, we see a 6.55-inch diagonal touchscreen, covered with an enviable protection - ultra-strong Gorilla Glass 6th generation. As Corning says, this is the best solution for bezel-less devices. This version of the glass compared to its predecessor, i.e. the 5th generation, has more strength and better splash protection.

The aspect ratio of the OnePlus 7T display is 19.5:9. As a result, the device is comfortable for reading, watching videos, social networking, emailing, skyping, etc. You can enjoy your favorite games for hours.

The technology used for the display - Optic AMOLED, is designed to provide the user with the most realistic picture. For this purpose, it has a more productive mode. Here, it is possible to display quality information both indoors and outdoors, i.e. under the scorching rays of the sun. The screen resolution is 1080x2340 pixels.

Platform

The attractive OnePlus 7T is based on Android 9.0 Pie operating system. This version has found widespread use in mobile devices this year, increasing autonomous runtime and prioritizing the most frequently used apps. It has also simplified multitasking.

Along with it, the OnePlus 7T has received the OxygenOS 9.5.8 interface.

To make the OnePlus smartphone competitive in the market, it has incorporated a flagship-level chipset - Snapdragon 855+. The latter can be found in a bunch of quality smartphones including Asus Zenfone 6, Sony Xperia 1, Samsung Galaxy S 10, Xiaomi Mi 9, etc. The octa-core processor, based on 7nm process technology, has an Adreno 640 graphics accelerator at its disposal. Its performance exceeds that of the standard Snapdragon 855 chip by 15%. As a result, the user gets higher performance in gaming processes.

Memory

OnePlus 7T can be found on the market in two configurations - with 8/128 GB of memory and with 8/256 GB of memory

Standalone operation

The smartphone features a battery that is not removable. It has a capacity of 3800 mAh. Considering the screen specs and display performance level, the battery will not provide a record-breaking performance. In standard usage, the OnePlus 7T functions without the need for recharging from morning till late evening. Gaming enthusiasts will need to recharge sometime. And recharging itself is comfortable. It is quick and simple. The phone supports fast battery charging mode.

Cameras

In the OnePlus 7T, we see a main camera which includes 3 sensors. The main wide-angle sensor is a 48-megapixel with an aperture of f/1.7. The additional sensors are rated at 16 MP and 12 MP.

Below the central sensor of the main camera is a dual-LED flash. With this camera, you can use the HDR mode, take panoramic photos and also record video in 2160p@60 fps; 1080p@30/60/240 fps; 720p@960 fps formats.

The main camera is equipped with optical image stabilization.

We go to the front camera. It is a single sensor with 16 MP and f/2.0 aperture.

OnePlus 7T will delight you with a photo app that supports auto-HDR and shoots video in 1080p@30fps mode.

Sound

We can't help but say something about the sound. These days, many people use their smartphones to enjoy their favourite tracks, or to watch movies and TV shows. In any case, sound is important. That's why we immediately mention that there are stereo speakers in the OnePlus 7T, and Dolby Atmos is also provided. The manufacturer has provided an active noise cancellation mode.

Finally, we will point out that the usual 3.5 mm headphone jack is absent

Conclusion

Everything said so far gives you enough data to build your picture of the OnePlus 7T model. What you might expect from it is present. Before us is another "killer flagship" with an attractive price tag. We will add that the smartphone is characterized by not bad functional capabilities and technical parameters. It entered several charts, which logically attracted the attention of other smartphone manufacturers. The Chinese company OnePlus definitely knows how to win fans to its side.
