Design

The Oppo A54 has a contemporary look with an all-plastic body. The front panel is occupied by a display with a graceful notch that houses the front camera. The bezels are minimal. Flipping the device over, you will see a rear panel on which a block of cameras protrudes slightly.

The Oppo A54 comes in two colours - violet-green and classic black. Whichever model you opt for, you'll have a stylish smartphone that you won't want to hide in a case.

Display

One of the reasons you'll love the Oppo A54 is that it's not too big. The diagonal of its display is 6.5 inches. Thus, the device is relatively compact, slim and not too wide. Its weight is also small. The Oppo A54 can be used with one hand, thanks to the rounded edges of the body.

The smartphone packs a 6.5-inch LTPS matrix, which is a good solution for a cheap phone. Colours are rich and viewing angles are wide. The picture refresh rate of 90 Hz is already a benchmark for this class. It provides a smooth picture and maximum satisfaction when working with different types of content.

If desired, the user can select the standard 60 Hz from the settings, which will reduce battery consumption.

In the Oppo A54, you get "Eye Protection." It changes the screen color so that you feel comfortable even when working in the dark. We recommend using this setting before sleep because blue light affects the nervous system.

Performance

The Oppo A54 is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G processor. This is the simplest and most affordable solution supporting 5G networks. The chipset was unveiled in early 2021 and was the first of the 400 series designed for budget devices running Android OS.

The processor is complemented by a minimum of 4 GB of RAM. There is also a 6 GB modification. Storage can be 64 or 128 GB, which can be increased as desired. A memory card slot is provided.

Overall, Oppo A54 has basic features, but they are enough to provide you with a fruitful work with everyday applications and tasks. It is not designed to meet the expectations of gamers.

Since the slot is not hybrid, the user can also use two SIM cards and a memory card.

Cameras

Performance is not among the Oppo A54's strong points, but the cameras are! It has a quad rear camera that consists of a 48-megapixel main unit, an 8-megapixel wide-angle, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel bokeh effect sensor.

The front camera is a single, 16-megapixel. Given enough light, it will provide you with good quality photos. But let's get back to the rear camera. With it, you'll take gorgeous shots - bright, juicy, with natural colors and ample clarity. 5x digital zoom is available.

The main lens is the default 12 MP resolution. To go to 48 MP mode, you need to select it from the settings. When shooting in the dark, the quality will logically be lower. That's why the manufacturer has provided a night mode. Photos become slightly lightened, at times - grainy.

With the Oppo A54 in hand, you will be able to record videos in Full HD or HD resolution at 30 frames per second. For 2021, this is an acceptable benchmark.

Autonomous operation

Given the low performance, the autonomous operation of the Oppo A54 is among its pluses. It is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery that will provide you with a charge for up to two days. If you use the smartphone more actively - for frequent phone calls, messaging, GPS navigation, web browsing, listening to music, playing games, you can count on 12 hours.

The device comes with an 18W charger. It takes about 2 hours to fully recharge the battery. In 40 minutes you will have a new 50%.

Conclusion

Oppo A54 is a good budget class smartphone. It has a quality display, comfortable dimensions, light weight and a perfectly working fingerprint scanner. The battery and NFC support are an added plus. To the positive sides of the device we must add the quality of photos and videos with the rear camera.
