Design

Visually, the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro does not shine with modern solutions, for example, a frameless screen. This may make it a bit outdated as a design, but it will be preferred by users who are not looking for novelties, but rather proven benefits. The construction is made of metal, and thick enough at that. There are no curves to the glass on the front. Below the screen we see the Home button, which is a rare occurrence in recent years. The back cover is removable. It is made of plastic. As ergonomics, the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro offers convenience in use. The device is not among the thinnest, but it is not too thick either. It lies pleasantly enough in the user's palm, which is helped by the rounded edges of the casing. Its dimensions are 143.8 x 72.3 x 8.4 mm at a weight of just 153 grams.

The Galaxy Prime Pro can be found in the market in several colors - black, blue, pink and gold.

Display

The screen diagonal is 5 inches. The size is pretty standard for a 2018 phone. The resolution may seem low - 960 x 540 pixels. However, the screen will be clear, pleasant to look at. The fabrication technology is Super AMOLED. Samsung has provided a good set of image calibration settings. Temperature change, turning on the blue color filter is also present.

What the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro, does not support is the Always On Display feature. Many users got used to it. Here, it has been cut down because of the budget nature of the model.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro is based on a budget-grade Snapdragon 425 4-core chip. It runs at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The chipset is weak, but also provides sufficient performance. The power consumption is also balanced. In 3D gaming, users will experience difficulties as they will have to select minimum graphics settings. For the latter, the Adreno 308 GPU is responsible.

Samsung has provided 1.5 GB of RAM. It's not much, but given the price range it's understandable. The internal storage is 16 GB. There is a memory card slot for up to 256 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) operating system. The interface in no way differs from that in other models of the manufacturer. It works fast enough and is intuitively structured.

Sound

If you're a music lover, you should know that the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro isn't exactly made to please. It will gift you with loud sound and average quality. Making calls will be seamless.

Cameras

The front-facing camera of the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro has a 5 MP resolution and the ability to shoot video at 1080 pixels. In daylight, selfies turn out not bad. In the dark, however, there will be a lot of noise. To improve the results, Samsung has equipped the device with a front flash. It will definitely come into your use.

The main camera in turn has an 8 MP module. Fundamentally, it shoots better quality videos. As for the pictures, in good light they are well detailed. Shots taken in the dark will be characterized by noise and less detail.

Autonomous operation

The autonomy of the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro is normal. The battery has a capacity of 2600 mAh, which reach in mixed mode of operation to 16 hours. We are talking about 4-5 hours of screen glow and around 8 hours of video watching. For such a battery, the metrics are above standard. No fast charging technology is provided.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro deserves your attention, even though the performance of the device is lower than what most similar Xiaomi models offer for the same money. However, the manufacturer plays an important role here. Samsung is a company with a proven approach to smartphone manufacturing. There is no questioning the reliability of its choice of developing models.

This model has a quality screen. If you don't play heavy games, but use the Samsung Galaxy Prime Pro mainly for phone calls, messaging and watching videos, you pick it up right away. It is a great choice for its price.

Among the definite pluses of the model are:

  • sAMOLED display;
  • 5-inch diagonal, which is a happy medium - suitable for users of different ages;
  • Replaceable battery - you can replace it independently in the future if you need to;
  • 2 SIM card slots and memory card slot.
