Samsung Galaxy J5 Review

Galaxy J5 is a budget smartphone, suitable for any user who knows the quality of Samsung's production, but does not want to use flagship features. The Galaxy J5 is ideal as a first device for children.

Design

In appearance, the smartphone resembles previous Samsung models. The body is made of plastic. Don't let the frame fool you - it looks like metal. And it is plastic, only it is treated with chrome.

The front panel of the Galaxy J5 catches the eye with the flash. That's no accident. The smartphone is positioned in the market as a "selfie phone". The front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel one, and we'll look at its capabilities in the next lines.

The Galaxy J5's dimensions make it comparable to the flagship Galaxy S6. The nicely rounded edges make the device comfortable to interact with.

Display

It is the screen of the Galaxy J5 that is tasked with winning over the user. As soon as you turn on the device, the picture immediately draws you into a pleasant experience. You immediately forget that you are holding a budget device in your hand. The manufacturer has spared no expense on the matrix and has placed a quality for this class of phones 5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

The specs are not top notch, but visually the screen is excellent. The resolution is enough to see the content comfortably. The picture is juicy, bright and colorful.

Performance

At the heart of the Galaxy J5 lies a 4-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The chip is old, but can be found in a number of budget models - j5 competitors. Hence, the conclusion is easy - this smartphone is not the most productive on the market. With the graphics is loaded Adreno 306. RAM is 2 GB. We see a similar solution in models such as Asus Zenfone Laser and Moto G (2015).

The storage is 8 GB, and the manufacturer has provided the option to expand it using a microSD card up to 128 GB. This puts an end to memory issues!

Cameras

In the Galaxy J5, you get two cameras. The main one is a 13-megapixel and the front one is a 5-megapixel. There are two flashes for each photomodule. Inasmuch as the smartphone is positioned as being designed for taking selfies, the marketers have decided to equip the front camera with a flash as well.

Both cameras shoot well for a budget device. There may be issues with colour rendering, focusing, noise and white balance, but with practice you will be able to take quality photos. The cameras work satisfactorily fast.

Autonomous operation

The smartphone is equipped with a 2600 mAh battery. If you have the practice of watching videos, listening to music, surfing and gaming, then the charge will quickly disappear before your eyes. In standby mode, the battery will provide you at least a few days. We recommend carrying the charger with you.

Conclusion

Samsung has successfully marketed its budget smartphones. This is definitely a high praise from the users. Its next offering - Galaxy J5 2015 has serious competitors - in the face of Meizu M1 Note, for example, but in the fight it has trump cards up its sleeve. Those are the gorgeous display and the classy camera. In addition, it supports the possibility of more memory and offers a good level of selfie quality.
