Design

This smartphone has inherited all the distinctive features of its predecessors. Its vision is relatively modern. It has a large button under the screen, a fingerprint recognition function and dimensions that suggest comfortable work with it.

The bezels around the Samsung J7 Pro's screen are decently thin. The top and bottom are wider, but that's normal. The back panel looks monolithic. The camera and flash are positioned there. There are small notches on the top that improve the signal.

On the left side of the Samsung J7 Pro are located the power button and the external column. On the left, you can adjust the volume and you'll find two separate slots. One is for a SIM card and microSD, and the second is for another SIM card.

Display

Traditionally, Samsung spares no expense on its budget smartphones and puts in a quality AMOLED display. This time, things are not like that. It relies on a PLS matrix, which has weaker brightness and contrast characteristics compared to any OLED alternative. This is one of the downsides of the Samsung J7 Pro, as in the sun, even at maximum brightness, you may experience a problem reading the information from the screen. Additionally, auto brightness adjustment is absent here. On the front panel, the corresponding sensor is simply absent. This means that you will have to adjust the brightness yourself.

The Samsung J7 Pro features a 5.5-inch display with FullHD resolution. Content will be clearly visible and without individual pixels. The thin side bezels give the screen an extra grace.

Performance

The Samsung J7 Pro packs a proprietary Exynos 7870 processor, which automatically means that it will handle all tasks well. It consists of 8 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz - quite sufficient for non-resource intensive tasks. The Mali-T830 MP1 is responsible for the graphics. RAM is the standard 3 GB and internal memory is 32 GB, expandable with a microSD memory card up to 256 GB.

The good tech process helps the device not to overheat, which is important for fast operation.

Cameras

Both the cameras in the Samsung J7 Pro are a real decoration for the device. They are 13 MP each and thanks to the apt pixel size, they practically take super photos for this price range. The rear camera is capable of depth-of-frame work. The macro shots are flagship level and sometimes the portrait shots too. The background blur is quality. In the dark with the rear camera, thanks to the optics and decent light output, you can take quality shots.

With the Samsung J7 Pro, video shooting is in FUllHD resolution. There is digital stabilization which played an excellent role in improving the quality. The videos can be called detailed as long as there are not too many small objects in the footage.

The front camera of the Samsung J7 Pro has the same optical specs. It shoots beautifully. There's no flash, which means you have to judge your surroundings well to make perfect selfies.

Autonomous operation

The Samsung J7 Pro is equipped with a non-removable 3300 mAh battery, which combined with an undemanding processor and good, energy-efficient memory shows not bad results as autonomy. The absence of an OLED screen slightly worsens the indicator, but for this price class is quite sufficient.

The need to constantly adjust the screen brightness may weigh you down at first, but it's a matter of getting used to it.

In talk mode, the J7 Pro guarantees you almost a day of use, and in video playback mode, a day and a half.

Conclusion

The Samsung J7 Pro is an excellent representative of its budget class. It has retained the build quality and reliability characteristic of the company's products. Absent are some features that today are the unspoken standard in smartphones, but then again, they are not a priority for all users.

This model of Samsung has its fans - people who want to hold in their hand a modern device at an affordable price, one step away from more expensive models.

Pros:

  • Excellent build quality and simple design;
  • Cameras that can take quality photos;
  • Performance at a satisfactory level.

Minuses:

  • The display has an outdated matrix.
