Design

Since the Galaxy M30s packs a high-capacity battery, you can't expect it to be thin. The dimensions are decent though - 159.0×75.1×8.9 mm. Weight is not a problem either - 188 grams. With this comfort, the performance of everyday tasks will be comfortable in any case.

Display

Recently, it is traditional in the inexpensive smartphones of the South Korean manufacturer to have a drop-shaped notch in the screen for the front camera. In the settings you can hide it. The Galaxy M30s has a beautiful and large enough 6.4-inch display, which can not be described as bezel-less. The resolution is 2340 x 1080 pixels. The matrix is Super AMOLED.

Scanners

Without a quick unlock feature, where to these days? The front camera scans the user's face. This mode works a bit slower in low ambient light and incompatible with sunglasses.

There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.

Performance

Inside the Galaxy M30s' casing lies an 8-core Exynos 9611 processor with Mali-G72. Users can choose between two variants - with 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage. If your storage is low, you can increase it with the help of a memory card. The good news is that this won't be at the expense of the second SIM card slot.

The Galaxy M30s supports LTE, has Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0. You also get an NFC module.

Cameras

The smartphone has got a 48 MP (ƒ/2.0) resolution main module. However, by default, it takes 12 MP resolution photos. An additional 5 MP sensor helps with depth sensing. The Galaxy M30s also has an ultra-wide angle lens (123 degrees, 8 MP).

The main sensor on a sunny day and good room light does well. The ultrawide-angle lens will come in handy during the daytime as it's low resolution. Night mode is absent.

With the Galaxy M30s in hand, you'll be making 4K videos. The front-facing camera is 16 MP with a f/2.0 lens. As for a budget device, it handles its tasks satisfactorily.

Autonomous operation

The battery capacity of the Galaxy M30s is an impressive 6000 mAh. As we mentioned to you, it immediately makes an impression. During tests, the device lasted almost 15 hours of autonomous work. With more moderate use, it will need recharging after a day or two.

Conclusion

Modern budget smartphones have seriously strengthened their merits. They are able to work without reproach, have received classy screens and often offer an NFC module necessary for contactless payment.

The Galaxy M30s promises its owner excellent autonomous operation. Among its shortcomings, we can point out the volume and the unimpressive capabilities of the cameras. However, the good impression of the body remains.

Pros:

  • Quality screen;
  • Two ways to unlock the device;
  • Decent performance;
  • NFC;
  • Excellent autonomy;
  • Fast charging technology;
  • Presence of an ultra-wide-angle camera.

Minuses:

  • Case is slightly slippery, recommend using a case.
