Design

The appearance of the Galaxy Note 10+ does not differ greatly from the smaller model. It should be noted the extremely thin frame at the bottom, the absent, thanks to the curved display, side bezels, and also the notch for the front camera. The latter sets a record in miniature - only 3 mm in diameter.

As for the rear panel, it is glass. Compared to the previous generation, the main change is the shift of the main camera to the upper left corner.

The working area of the Galaxy Note 10+ screen is huge. However, it has not made the device uncompact. On the contrary! Its dimensions are 162.3:77.2:7.9 mm at a weight of 196 grams. The display is huge at 6.8 inches. By comparison, the 6.5-in iPhone XS Max weighs 208 grams.

Display

With each passing year, the displays of the South Korean company's phones are getting better. This makes us not surprised at the high marks they are given by specialists around the world. Experts emphasize the peak brightness of 1308 cd/m2 and incredibly high color accuracy- (0.4 JNCD).

All the other features of the Galaxy Note 10+ are at an excellent level. The matrix is Dynamic AMOLED with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels. Density - 498 ppi. 19:9 aspect ratio. There is an Always-on display function and support for HDR10+ extended dynamic range. Thanks to the very thin bezels, the Galaxy Note 10+ display occupies 91.% of the front panel. This is one of the highest metrics among smartphones.

In comparison, competitors iPhone XS Max and Huawei P30 Pro have indicators of 84.4% and 88.6%, respectively.

Performance

On the market, the Galaxy Note 10+ can be found in two versions - with the top chipset Snapdragon 855 and Exynos 9825 with a clock speed of 2.73 GHz and graphics Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The power of the platforms is supreme with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. It will last for years to come, no matter how much the demands of the toughest applications change.

Camera

Experts have already named the Galaxy Note 10+ the best camera phone of its time after the first tests. The new device beat even the Huawei P30 Pro in the overall rankings. This Samsung model allows the user to record video of the highest quality.

The device is equipped with a quad camera, which in its characteristics is almost indistinguishable from the camera in the Galaxy S10+. We are talking about a 12-megapixel module (with variable aperture ƒ/1.5-2.4, focal length 25 mm), an auxiliary 12-megapixel module (with double optical zoom and aperture f/2.1), a wide-angle module with a sensor with a resolution of 16 MP and a 12-mm lens with aperture ƒ/2.2 and autofocus, and also a ToF sensor for measuring the depth of scenes. The first two modules will also impress with optical image stabilization. With the Galaxy Note 10+ in hand, you can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Sound

In the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, the manufacturer has done away with the 3.5mm port. A lot of people might be unhappy about this. In the consolation kit there is an adapter from USB-C to coaxial headphone output.

Combined with the Galaxy Buds wireless headset, the smartphone works remarkably well. There's Dolby Atmos support and equalizer effects for wired and wireless headphones.

In the Galaxy Note 10+, we see an acoustic display that works with the main speaker on the bottom end and creates an excellent stereo effect. The sound is loud, with a wide frequency range and is perfect for gaming and watching video.

Safety

Things are done as standard here. We see something already tested in the 2019 flagship. It's about an ultrasonic scanner in the screen. It is located unusually high, but the user will quickly get used to it. The scanner works without error and instantly.

The Galaxy Note 10+ also offers a facial recognition feature. It works quickly, and to not have a problem with recognition in the dark hours of the day, the manufacturer has found a way out of the situation. In the dark, the smartphone increases the brightness of the screen to "recognize" the owner's personality more easily.

Stylus

The S-Pen stylus is inherently an exclusive solution in the smartphone world. None of Samsung's competitors have managed to occupy this niche so well. The stylus is one of the unconditional advantages of the Galaxy Note 10+.

Autonomous operation
The flagship has received a 4300 mAh battery. Taking into account the AMOLED display and the economical processor, the results show the following: good autonomous work. The device supports 45W fast charging technology. In addition, wireless charging with 15 W is provided. Reverse wireless charging - i.e. charging Galaxy Note 10+ devices is 9 W.

Competitors

The Galaxy Note 10+ has a few main competitors in the market - these are the iPhone 11 Max, iPhone XS Max and Huawei P30 Pro.

Conclusion

The main question when experts test the Galaxy Note 10+ is whether it will prove to be as almighty as the manufacturer claims. Sometimes, you know, it's all advertising. However, when a member of Samsung's Note family is on the testing table, the claimed specs turn out to be what they are. This smartphone can do a lot. It even sometimes exceeds expectations.

In recent years, the Galaxy Note series has managed to drag competitors' development in its wake. It has lost some of its exclusivity as other manufacturers have started to catch up in terms of screen size, battery capacity, etc. That doesn't negate one fact - the Galaxy Note 10+ has once again blown away the contenders for the perfect device. The model offers a concentration of the features most sought after by consumers. It incorporates the most valuable innovations and the best in software terms.

Pros:

  • Quality Dynamic AMOLED Display;
  • Versatile Camera;
  • Excellent selfie camera performance;
  • Top Performance;
  • Great battery capacity;
  • Support for fast and wireless charging as well as reverse charging technology;
  • In-screen fingerprint scanner - which works lightning fast;
  • Excellent performance of facial recognition technology;

Cons:

  • No manual zoom solver;
  • Lacks an ultra-wide-angle camera;
  • There is room for improvement in the night shooting mode;
  • Awkward button placement on the left side;
  • Price that for some users is more than prohibitive.
