Design

During the launch of the Galaxy Note 3, particular emphasis was placed on the quality of the materials incorporated into it. They are premium. Considering the positioning of the Note series precisely in this segment, the company thickly emphasizes this. The Galaxy Note 3 wins the user over with design and by being reminiscent of the Galaxy S2.

The rear panel is among the strengths of the model. You'll find the device in three colour options - white, black and pink. As for the dimensions, they are typical for the time - 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm. The weight is only 168 grams. In comparison, the Note 2's size is 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm while weighing almost 20 grams more. Thus, the device offers a larger screen diagonal, higher battery capacity and yet smaller dimensions. The Galaxy Note 3 feels good in the hand. Prolonged use is more than comfortable. This will appeal to ladies whose palms are smaller. One-handed operation is child's play.

Display

The screen of the Galaxy Note 3 has a diagonal of 5.7 inches. It is made with Super AMOLED technology. The resolution compared to its predecessor has increased to 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen supports up to 10 simultaneous presses. Its quality is excellent. The pixel density per inch is 386. Picture quality is superb. The contrast of the screen has been greatly increased. This is noticeable when shooting with the camera. The colours are more vivid.

Performance

Galaxy Note 3 can be found in the market in two variants. The mainstream one is based on Snapdragon 800, and the clock speed of the quad-core processor from Qualcomm is up to 2.3 GHz. The latter goes with an Adreno 330 graphics co-processor. The Exynos 5420 Octa uses two quad-core processors and a graphics co-processor - PowerVR SGX 544MP3 533 MHz.

The phone packs 32 GB of internal storage, with a 64 GB version available. It can be expanded using a microSD card up to 64 GB. RAM is 3 GB. It is ample for all applications and a kind of record for the devices released in 2013.

Cameras

The camera in the Galaxy Note 3 is almost similar to the one used in the Galaxy S4 when it comes to most settings and modes. The main one is a single, 13 MP with LED flash and a BSI sensor. The aperture is f2.2. It has improved auto detection of environmental conditions. Video recording is done in 4K. In features, it repeats the photomodule in the Galaxy S4. The detail of the photos depends on the lighting. The better it is, the better the images.

The front camera is 2 MP with an aperture of f/2.4. It records video at 1080 pixels at up to 30 frames per second.

Autonomous operation

In the Galaxy Note 3, the manufacturer has chosen a Li-Io battery with a capacity of 3200 mAh. If you remember the predecessor had 3100 mAh. According to Samsung's claim, the battery is capable of providing up to 16 hours of talk time. In standby mode, get ready for up to 890 hours. The full battery recharge time is about 3 hours.

Conclusion

The Galaxy Note 3 smartphone can be called a worthy continuation of the series. Its display is satisfactorily large, comfortable to use. This model is an excellent choice for people looking for a quality device with maximum functionality for the standards in 2013.

A definite plus is the performance gain compared to the model a year earlier. It impresses especially when it comes to 3D graphics. The powerful platform and ample RAM have allowed Samsung to improve multitasking.

Finally, we can't help but mention the stylus. The Galaxy Note 3 outperforms its predecessors with a new stylus and S Note program. By design, the stylus now more closely matches the look of the smartphone. However, its construction has not changed. Traditionally, it is hidden in the body. The handling has been simplified. Once you remove the stylus from the casing, a new menu appears on the smartphone screen from which you can choose how to move forward.
