There will be no mini flagships this year. Their role may be somewhat taken over by the previously unveiled S10 Lite. Now we are already dealing with a flagship, a large flagship and an ultra version. In other words, welcome, Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20+ and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra!

Design
There are no cardinal design changes in this model compared to last year's handsets. Slightly curved and almost bezel-less display, beveled glass back. Only the front camera has moved from the corner to the centre. The rear camera unit, on the other hand, is concentrated in black rectangles. In different versions of the s20, it has its own character and slightly protrudes above the body.
This year, Samsung has decided not to experiment with colours. You'll see the Galaxy S20 in several choices - pink, sky blue, grey and black. The Galaxy S20+, on the other hand, has a red version.
As for the smartphone's dimensions, they are 151.7 × 69.1 × 7.9 mm at a weight of 163 grams. Given the 6.2-inch display diagonal of the Galaxy S20, the user gets a truly compact device. It is lightweight and predisposes to comfortable interaction.
The robustness of the device is ensured by Gorilla Glass 6. Water protection is IP68 standard. You can submerge the Galaxy S20 to a depth of up to 1.5 meters for a maximum of 30 minutes.
Display
The Galaxy S20's display has been designed according to the latest fashions. It takes up 93.2% of the front panel. Samsung has used Dynamic AMOLED, 120 Hz, HDR10+. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is embedded in the screen surface. According to the manufacturer, it is the same scanner that the user knows from the S10. If it has remained unchanged, there is an improvement in the software. The technology works even faster.
If you're the kind of person who trusts the facial recognition system more, the South Koreans have provided it in the Galaxy S20. It only works with the help of the front camera.
Performance
The hardware platform in all Samsung Galaxy S20, is the Exynos 990. The chip uses a three-cluster architecture. It consists of a dual-core block clocked at 2.73 GHz, a dual-core Cortex-A76 block clocked at 2.6 GHz, and a quad-core Cortex-A55 block clocked at 2.0 GHz. The Mali-G77 MP11 controller is responsible for graphics processing. The processor includes a dual-core NPU whose role is to accelerate the execution of artificial intelligence (AI) operations. The process technology is 7nm.

Memory
The South Koreans have endowed the Galaxy S20 with quite a bit of memory. The device comes in two versions - with 8 and 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The bigger brother, the S20+, has a 512 GB version. The record for RAM belongs to the S20 Ultra, which "enjoys" as much as 16 GB.
If from now on you start to resent the memory, you think that the storage is small, then do not be so hasty. The manufacturer has provided a microSD memory card slot up to 1 TB. To take advantage of it, you need to sacrifice the second SIM card.
Camera
When talking about a Samsung flagship, one of the sweetest topics is the cameras. It is common knowledge that they are among the advantages of these models and most of the time is devoted to them in all the presentations that the company organizes.
All three Galaxy S20s have received different camera sets. So let's say the "base" Galaxy S20 offers:
- A main camera with 12 MP resolution, 1.8 µm pixels, f/1.8 brightness and optical stabilization;
- Ultra-wide 12 MP, 1.4 µm pixels, f/2.2 brightness;
- Triple optical zoom with 64 MP sensor, f/2.0 brightness and optical stabilization.
Compared to the previous generation, the Galaxy S20's cameras stand out in that the telephoto module has been given a 64 MP sensor and the main camera is devoid of a lens with changing luminosity. The base one features an unimpressive f/1.8.
Another feature in which Samsung smartphones are ahead of the competition, besides digital zoom, is that they can now shoot 8K-video. Experts believe that this in itself is not particularly meaningful, but it allows to seriously improve the stabilization when shooting video and can take photos-screenshots with a resolution of 33 MP directly while watching a video. We think a lot of users are using this feature these days. They will be pleased with the possibilities that the Galaxy S20 offers them.
It's also worth mentioning the Single Take mode. In it, you shoot video for a while, and the smartphone decides which cuts of the captured material to edit into a short video, and others to save as photos by applying different filters. This is a feature you should trust. Expect interesting results.
Autonomous operation
Compared to previous flagships, the S20 series batteries are larger by between 10-17%. Specifically, the battery capacity of the Galaxy S20 is 4000 mAh. The manufacturer reports no major improvements in the level of autonomous operation, but promises faster wired charging and progress in wireless charging.
Conclusion
Currently in the smartphone market, consumers are mainly interested in three things: camera, display and battery. The first generates content, the second is what we look at, and the third allows us to do our favorite things non-stop. In that line of thought, the Galaxy S20, and its two brothers, are amazing products.
The biggest improvements are in the cameras. For two years, Samsung has been porting the same modules from flagship to flagship. Now things have changed radically. It has come to 8K video. If until recently someone could define such a benchmark as fantastic, now AI and the most powerful processors allow it.
There's already a serious bid from Samsung that other manufacturers in the market will be measuring up to by the end of the year.
