The company's devices always stand out against the rest. Proof of this is the Sony Xperia 10 ii, a device that is coming in 2020. It is a representative of the middle price class. It impresses with quality and 21:9 aspect ratio. On its magnificent OLED screen, you will not find any notches. It has a decent three-camera system on the rear panel. It combines cuteness, good build and handy add-ons including a fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone is protected to IP68 standard.

Design

All of Sony's smartphones have a recognisable design. They are elongated and thin, you easily recognize them on a stand with hundreds of models. The 6-inch format, of course, can hardly be described as compact, but the Sony Xperia 10 ii looks slender. It weighs just 151 grams, making it ideal for people of all ages. The reason for its lightness lies in the plastic frame. When you hold the Sony Xperia 10 ii in your hand, you don't get the cold metal feeling that is a fact with more expensive models. The high build quality can be felt in the fact that there is no creaking while holding it.

On the front and back, the Sony Xperia 10 ii is covered with Gorilla Glass 6 protective glass. Fingerprints are easily visible on it. We recommend using a case.

Display

What attracts us to the Sony Xperia 10 ii is the 6-inch OLED display. The screen has a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. Thus, the density per inch is 457 pixels. The image is bright and detailed. The brightness - magnificent, its maximum level is almost 600 nits.

The OLED panel is great for watching videos, especially if they are shot in 21:9 aspect ratio. Whatever content you interact with, this smartphone will be comfortable to work with for hours on end.

Performance

The smartphone packs a Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. For the mid-price range, these are typical benchmarks. In the performance of the Sony Xperia 10 ii, you will not find any stuttering or slowdown. Heavy games start without a problem.

As for the operating system, it is Android 10 with a lightweight interface from Sony.

Cameras

Sony Xperia 10 ii features a set of three cameras on the rear panel. The solution seems to be standard. The main sensor is a 12 MP, wide-angle one. It's paired with an 8 MP telephoto lens with dual optical zoom and an 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera.

In daylight, the Sony Xperia 10 ii will give you quality and detailed photos. Colours look natural and the dynamic range is wide. With the help of artificial intelligence, the camera app automatically determines the light level and conditions for photos. A small icon appears for each mode depending on whether you're moving, standing still, or shooting at close range.

The night mode will impress you with decent results. The photos don't get blown out. A lot of detail is retained. You get a good balance between bright and dark areas.

With the Sony Xperia 10 ii, you can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second. The front camera is a single, 8 MP.

Autonomous operation

The smartphone has an unsurprisingly large battery capacity - 3600 mAh. Given the large and bright display, it may make you doubt that it will achieve enough long-lasting autonomous work. It will give you at least 10-11 hours of screen time in normal mode and 5-6 hours of playing 3D games. This means that with moderate usage, the smartphone will run out of power within two days. An excellent benchmark by today's standards, helped by the performance of the Snapdragon 665.

On the plus side, Sony has provided 18W fast charging technology.

Conclusion

If you don't want to buy a flagship for a lot of money, the Sony Xperia 10 ii is definitely a device that has the merits to do the job for you for at least a few years. It has a 6-inch OLED display with no notches, and the image quality is superb. The smartphone runs smooth and fast, the cameras have a lot to compete with.

Should you buy it? Yes. The Sony Xperia 10 ii looks attractive, is very well made and has several strong points. These include a fast and accurate fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP68-standard protection for fearlessness against water, and low weight.
