Design

Everything in the vision of the Wiko Y82 speaks of a basic level smartphone. If you expect a modern design solution and a vision for the future, don't do it. It is superfluous. This device is created on the principle - well known and tested. Its appearance is similar to many other devices on the market. The case is made entirely of quality polycarbonate and has a slightly grooved texture. This speaks well and implies a stronger grip and a lower risk of leakage.

The front of the Wiko Y82 has noticeably large bezels around the screen. The rounded edges complement the positive assessment of ergonomics. The front camera, as is traditional for most budget devices, is positioned at the top of the screen. The back in turn is in the upper left corner.

The smartphone is available in several colors - black, navy blue and light blue. All three look stylish. On the back panel you will find the fingerprint scanner. It works quickly and without a moment's delay you will have access to the functions of the phone.

Display

Wiko Y82 has a 6.1-inch IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. The resolution is low, but this is to be expected. However, you can enjoy a quality picture as for this price range. In direct sunlight, expect a slight problem with reading information from the screen. This can be judged by the maximum level of brightness.

You will appreciate the possibility of unlocking the device through facial recognition. This technology is not among the most common in this segment.

Wiko Y82 has another plus that you should not miss. Its screen is protected against scratches and occupies 88% of the front of the smartphone (an excellent indicator for this class).

Productivity

On board the Wiko Y82 we find an 8-core Unisoc SC9863 processor in combination with an IMG 8322 graphics accelerator, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, which can be expanded to 256 GB with a microSD card if needed.

The smartphone supports 2 SIM cards, 4G networks, Bluetooth and more.

The operating system is factory Android 11 Red Velvet Cake. The interface is easy to navigate and allows you to adjust the view to your own preferences.

Cameras

The main camera of the Wiko Y82 is 13-megapixel and is equipped with an LED flash and 2x digital zoom. It is complemented by an auxiliary 2-megapixel sensor. When shooting in good conditions, you can count on photos and videos worthy of the budget class. The colors are acceptable as well as the level of detail.

Of course, this situation changes dramatically when the light source is insufficient. In this case, the shots are dark, with noise and lack of detail.

As for video recording, with the Wiko Y82 you can record in HD at 30 frames per second.

The front camera is single. With it you will make beautiful, but not super impressive selfies.

Autonomous work

Wiko Y82 is powered by a battery with a capacity of 3600 mAh. Given the processor, you can expect good battery life - over two days. With more economical use, you may not even need to reach for the charger until the third day.

The manufacturer has provided more efficient use of charge with the help of improved technology based on artificial intelligence.

It is important to note that the battery of the Wiko Y82 is replaceable. This is a rarity nowadays and allows you to replace it when a problem arises.

Conclusion

Wiko Y82 is an ideal choice for people who do not need an expensive smartphone. They receive in exchange for their money up to date as a system device that will be complete for surfing the Internet, chatting and watching videos. You can't expect top photographic capabilities and top performance from it. Missing key features include support for contactless NFC and 5G payments. However, you can rely on facial recognition or a fingerprint scanner to keep the information on the device away from prying eyes.
