Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro review

Xiaomi's gaming smartphone series has always enjoyed limited popularity. The reason for this lies in the fact that the models are exclusively aimed at users for whom Android gaming is the main focus, while the other features are not very impressive compared to the flagships on the market. The hero of the following lines did not change the situation. He has again targeted gamers without changing his profile.

Design

The appearance of the Black Shark 3 Pro is undeniably original. Some color choices on the back panel are super attractive. The body is almost entirely made of metal and features an interesting camera layout. The buttons are comfortably placed for a gamer.

The dimensions of the model are 177.8 x 83.3 x 10.1 mm. Its weight is 253 grams.

Display

Around the huge display of the Black Shark 3 Pro, we see small bezels. And we understand exactly how huge the display is by the diagonal - 7.1 inches! We have to praise the AMOLED panel. The maximum resolution is 3120 x 1440 pixels. Black Shark 3 Pro will also please you with its magnificent brightness (600 cd/m²) and screen contrast. A responsive fingerprint scanner is embedded below the latter.

The frame rate is 90 Hz and leaves a pleasant impression on the user.

Performance

The specifications of the Black Shark 3 Pro amaze with the performance. The powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor is coupled with 8/12 GB LPDDR5 and the gorgeous Adreno 650 graphics accelerator for maximum graphics settings in the heavy Android games that are set to hit the market in the coming years. This result is made possible by Game Engine and Solar Core technologies.

The internal storage is 256/512 GB. The interface pleases with increased smoothness of operation. The developers of the Black Shark 3 Pro have not provided a MicroSD memory card slot.

Cameras

This Black Shark model has basic 64-, 13- and 5-megapixel cameras headed by an inexpensive Samsung GW1 sensor. They showcase photos and videos that are more typical of the mid-price category. Optical stabilisation is absent, which means low-light shots will be slightly blurry. There is a dual LED flash.

The 20-megapixel front-facing camera won't blow your imagination. Despite the absence of flash, you can still create quality selfies with it.

Users can benefit from capturing 4K resolution videos at 60 and 30 frames per second. The set of built-in features is impressive: these are HDR, PDAF, Super Night 2.0 night mode, artificial intelligence and more.

Autonomous operation

The Black Shark 3 Pro has a 5000 mAh battery. The user gets several days of work without thinking about recharging. 65 W fast charging technology is present, but without wireless analog.

In standby mode, the charge lasts for 6-7 days and 2-3 days under normal load. With constant use, you can count on 10-12 hours of continuous operation. In talk mode - 30 hours.

The manufacturer has not provided IR port and NFC chip.

Conclusion

Black Shark 3 Pro represents a modern smartphone with power worthy of admiration by any user who regularly plays games. The device supports 2 SIM card operation.
