Design

On the surface, it's not hard to confuse the Xiaomi poco x3 pro with the Poco X3 NFC. Both models have an identical design, identical screens and front cameras, but in everything else they differ. First and foremost is the hardware platform.

The Xiaomi poco x3 pro's faceplate has very thin bezels around the screen. Here, the latter occupies almost 85% of the surface. The rear panel features a huge logo and a block of cameras in an interesting shape. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side in the boot button of the device.

Another difference we see in the front panel, which is covered with tempered Gorilla Glass 6 protective glass. Additionally, the casing is protected against water splashes to IP53 standard.

Display

The Xiaomi poco x3 pro features the same screen as the Poco X3 NFC, but not OLED. It supports 120 Hz refresh rate, which gives it an edge over many competitors. The screen diagonal of Xiaomi poco x3 pro is 6.67 inches. The matrix is IPS. The screen resolution is Full HD+ (2400 × 1080 pixels) and the pixel density is not high. Just 395 inches. The viewing angles are wide.

Performance

Underneath the stylish body of the Xiaomi poco x3 pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 platform. The processor has 8 cores: one with maximum performance Kryo 485 Gold with an operating frequency of 2.96 GHz, three cores Kryo 485 Gold with a frequency of 2.42 GHz and four power-efficient cores Kryo 485 Silver with a frequency of 1.78 GHz. Adreno 640 is responsible for the graphics.

Depending on the configuration, the smartphone comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. It can be expanded using microSDXC.

Factory Xiaomi poco x3 pro runs Android 11 operating system and a proprietary interface.

Cameras

Xiaomi poco x3 pro features a quad rear camera. The main module is 48 MP and is complemented by an 8-megapixel camera that is ultra-wide angle (119 degrees). The other two modules, two-megapixel, are responsible for macro shots and the bokeh effect.  Optical stabilisation is absent. Unlike the X3 NFC model, the night mode here works not only with the main module, but also with the wide-angle. This expands the camera's application quite a bit.

The proprietary filters in the camera app allow the user to create interesting shots and add effects.

The front camera in turn is a single, 64 MP, f/2.2 camera.

In terms of video capture, the Xiaomi poco x3 pro offers standard functionality - 4K at 30fps and moderate stabilization. You can make use of a beautifier to improve its quality. There are also cinematic frames, filters, tracking autofocus and more.

Autonomous operation

Xiaomi poco x3 pro has a 5160 mAh battery. With moderate usage, you can rely on your smartphone all day long. More serious workloads - such as watching videos continuously, playing games and using resource-intensive apps will discharge the charge faster - 5 to 7 hours. As a result, this metric is average.

To enable you to have a recharged phone faster, Xiaomi has provided support for 33W fast charging technology. With its help, you can get 59% battery charge after just half an hour. A full charge will take a maximum of an hour.

Conclusion

In the face of Xiaomi poco x3 pro, the Chinese manufacturer is trying to offer a budget priced device that will attract the gamers. The model has a quality processor, good graphics and handles all tasks quickly. The large screen allows you to fully enjoy the content you are watching.

The smartphone is large with a plastic back panel. It is capable of meeting the demands of gamers. It has a hybrid memory card slot.

Pros:

  • Excellent performance for its price class
  • High quality and large display with 120 Hz refresh rate
  • Very fast charging
  • Quality and loud sound
  • Mini jack
  • Infrared port

Cons:

  • The memory card slot is shared with the one for the second SIM card
