Design

The ZTE Blade A71 looks somewhat ordinary. It looks like dozens of other units on the market. This almost complete lack of distinguishing features over competitors shouldn't make you write it off. It has merits to win you over to its side. One of them is the fact that the front panel is made of Gorilla Glass 3 with a U-shaped notch at the top. Additionally, the screen is coated at the factory with a protective layer that discourages the accumulation of fingerprint marks.

The body of the ZTE Blade A71 is made of plastic. You can find it in the market in several colors - blue, gray and green. The surface is ribbed and pleasant to the touch. On the left side of the rear panel, the top is positioned the block of cameras. They are positioned vertically, and next to them we see the LED flash.

The fingerprint scanner is on the right side. It works quickly and you'll love keeping your data out of other people's eyes this way.

There are no remarks regarding the craftsmanship of the smartphone. Weighing 180 grams, it is among the lightest on the market and is comfortable to use.

Display

The ZTE Blade A71 has received a 6.52-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. Its maximum brightness is 400 nits. It occupies 82.6% of the phone's front panel and is of medium quality. Its contrast isn't bad, and colors are generally natural. At an angle, the latter become slightly darker. However, this is normal for a budget device.

In the settings, you can adjust the zoom, choose the reading mode, dark theme, font size and other features.

Performance

The ZTE Blade A71 runs on the base of the Unisoc SC9863A. It is an 8-core chipset with PowerVR IMG8322 graphics accelerator. The smartphone comes in a single configuration - with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The latter may seem modest, but you can expand it if needed. The power of the device is enough to play popular games. Applications run smoothly and without a moment's delay.

The factory ZTE Blade A71 runs on Android 11 operating system.

Cameras

The smartphone comes with a triple main camera which is very good for its price. The main module is 16-megapixel and is wide-angle. It allows to take beautiful panoramic pictures. It is complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth-of-frame sensor. A curious point is that the main camera uses artificial intelligence to improve the quality of photos. It doesn't give you tips, but selects the settings so that the results are the best, even if you're shooting at night.

As for the front camera, it's a single, 8-megapixel one. It's able to separate the central subject of the frame - i.e. you and your friends. You'll effortlessly take super photos to share on social media.

Autonomous operation

This ZTE model is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. With normal usage, you can count on a day and a half before you need to recharge. More economical use extends autonomous operation to two days or more.

A charger comes with the smartphone. No fast charging technology is supported, either for wireless or vice versa. You should keep this in mind if you are used to using newer charge recovery technology.

The best time to recharge the ZTE Blade A71 is at night while you sleep.

Conclusion

The ZTE Blade A71 is an attractively priced smartphone that does feature a modern design and innovative features. Its manufacturer has opted for a conservative look combined with basic features. It is suitable for users who do not care how it shoots and what its display is.

Importantly, it runs smoothly and provides good autonomous operation that can reach up to three days. A bonus is the NFC chip support for contactless payments. Besides, it offers good music capabilities and an excellent working navigation system.

Of special note is the fingerprint scanner, which is built into the power button. This solution is convenient and easy to get used to.
