Design

Redmi 7A is definitely an unpretentious model. It is quality made and comes in several colours including blue, blue-green and red-black. The manufacturer has opted for plastic as the main material. Glass or aluminium are absent. While the device looks modest, it doesn't scratch as easily as its glossy counterparts.

All the usual buttons are in place. If desired, the user can switch to gesture control.

A fingerprint scanner is absent on the Redmi 7A. The device can be unlocked either with a PIN or using the front camera.

Display

The bezels around the Redmi 7A's display are thinner than on the iPhone XR, which costs many times more. The budget model looks decent in this styling. The display specs are as follows - 5.45 inches diagonal, 720 x 1440 pixels resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio. There is an oleophobic coating, but it is not of the highest quality. Since the surface is perfectly flat, without a problem the user can put a protective glass.

In short - Redmi 7A offers a decent screen for a budget device. The brightness margin is relatively high. In the sun, you may experience a slight difficulty in reading the information from the screen.

Splash protection

The manufacturer has claimed splash protection for the Redmi 7A. This means that in rainy weather, you can answer a call and have a conversation in peace. Don't underestimate the fact that we are talking about incomplete moisture protection. Don't overdo the getting wet thing.

Performance

Redmi 7A comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. Despite the modest specs and the choice of an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, the smartphone runs smoothly and without a hitch. With gaming, things are fine, but this is definitely not a model made for gamers.

Cameras

A curious point about this phone is that it comes in some markets with different main camera modules: 12 or 13 MP. There's hardly a critical difference between the performance in either case. Artificial intelligence is responsible for processing the photos in the Redmi 7A. You can optionally turn it off.

Given the budget affiliation of the smartphone, you can not expect perfect photos and videos. Here and there, the detail will not be up to par. Noises will appear, etc.

Autonomous operation

Redmi 7A has a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. It will last you for 2-3 days of usage. A micro USB port is used for charging.

Interesting Fact: This Xiaomi model supports fast charging technology and you can use this feature if you use a compatible accessory.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a modest, stylishly simple and compact device, then Redmi 7A fits that description. It will serve you for a long time, performing with ease with the usual daily tasks. A nice plus is the presence of splash protection and interesting color solutions.
