Let's start with the dimensions. There is no fundamental change compared to its predecessors. The Redmi Note 8 weighs almost 190 grams. It is 158.3 mm high by 159.21 mm, which we know from the Note 7. The width and thickness remain virtually identical.
The display of the Redmi Note 8 is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass safety glass, which seamlessly reaches the plastic frame. The thickness of the housing is 8.3 mm. The frames around the display are reasonably thin. The latter occupies 82% of the area of the front panel.
The build quality is good. Moisture protection is absent, so it is advisable to keep this smartphone away from water. The physical buttons are firmly in place.
The Redmi Note 8 is pleasantly thin. It looks slightly large, with the glass back panel playing a role. Color gradient is a beautiful solution. This Xiaomi model is available in several colors: Moonlight White, Space Black and Neptune Blue.
Unlike the Redmi Note 7, in the Redmi Note 8 we see the Snapdragon 665. These are 8 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The processor is based on an 11nm process. The graphics core is the Adreno 610. For this class of smartphones the performance is good.
In Redmi Note 8, the company relied on a basic four-camera module as well as a front camera. The main photo sensor in the rear module is the Samsung GM1. It has a resolution of 48 MP, an aperture of f/1.75 and a pixel size of 0.8 μm. A further 2MP depth-of-field sensor, a macro lens sensor and an 8 MP wide-angle f/2.2 aperture and 180-degree viewing angle are present.
The Samsung GM1 uses a technique to merge four nearby pixels into one. As a result, the photosensitivity and detail of the picture are improved. The resolution is reduced to 12 MP. This technology works great and produces exciting footage. In conditions of low ambient light, GM1 does not work perfectly.
The front camera of the Redmi Note 8 is 13MP. She takes great pictures throughout the day. Its level of detail and sharpness is not as good as that of the main camera. The quality of the photos is satisfactory. Selfies can be published immediately on social networks.
The Redmi Note 8 has a 4000 mAh battery. Full recharging takes 2 hours and 20 minutes.
