Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite Review

Want a smartphone with a huge Super AMOLED display, triple camera and satisfyingly high performance? Take a look at the Galaxy Note10 Lite. Of course it goes hand-in-hand with a stylus too!

Design

In appearance, the Galaxy Note10 Lite has inherited a lot from the Note10. Some differences are present. For example, the screen is not curved at the edges and has larger bezels. The back panel is made of a material that strongly resembles plastic rather than glass.

S Pen

The main competitive advantage of this Samsung model is the S Pen stylus. Its functionality is no different to that which millions of users know from the wonderful Note10. The only change is the colour.

In the pen we also see a Bluetooth module that requires charging, but you won't find out about this necessity, as the new S Pen charges in a minute. Its charge then serves for 10 hours of use.

Display

The Galaxy Note10 Lite features a quality 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. Its resolution is 2400 x 1080 pixels. The resolution and pixel density are not marginal, you can notice this in the 4K videos.

A key difference compared to the Note10's screen is the absence of HDR10 support.

Performance

The Galaxy Note10 Lite is equipped with the Samsung Exynos 9810 Octa hardware platform - this is a 2018 flagship solution. It packs in four proprietary 2.7 GHz Mongoose M3 cores and four 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores. Mali-G72 MP18 (900 MHz) is responsible for the graphics.

Cameras

The Galaxy Note10 Lite has received a homogeneous set of cameras. There are three of them and all of them are 12-megapixel. Each camera is responsible for a specific focal length, providing triple optical zoom.

The primary camera sensor on the Galaxy Note10 Lite is identical to those in the 2019 flagships.  In darkness, it shoots at the level of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and OnePlus 7T.

The front-facing camera, in turn, has received a 32 MP resolution sensor and ƒ/2.2 optics. Autofocus and flash are absent. Background blurring, beautification, proprietary selfies are available to the user.

Overall, the front camera is good. It will appeal to people who regularly take and post selfies on social networks. The camera interacts with the S Pen, allowing to create short videos with animation and drawings.

Autonomous operation

The Galaxy Note10 Lite features a 4500 mAh battery. Combined with a Full HD screen and relatively moderate platform power, it allows the user to rely on good autonomous performance. The standard usage mode, where moderate browsing, shooting, talking, etc., guarantees service from morning to evening.

Conclusion

The beautiful and practical Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite is a logical evolution of the Galaxy family. It offers a unique interaction that is enhanced by the presence of the S Pen stylus. The smartphone has taken some of the best features of its predecessors and "dressed" them up in a more affordable price.

Pros:

  • Satisfactory power of the hardware platform;
  • Decent camera quality - both front and rear;
  • Functional S Pen;
  • Excellent AMOLED display;
  • Wonderful level of autonomous performance.

Minuses:

  • Not protected against moisture;
  • Fingerprint scanner could work faster.
