Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Review

With each passing year, smartphone manufacturers are finding it more difficult to create impressive flagships. Top processors and ultra quality displays can be seen in the mid-price range, even in budget models. This makes the consumer to be more critical and not take flagships as the only solution to their needs. In the face of the Samsung Note 9, we see a great device with top specs and interesting features.

Samsung Note 9 will not surprise you with a new design. The adjustments are quite slight, but on the positive side. In the screen diagonal size, there is a slight increase compared to the Note 8. This has not only improved the comfort of using the smartphone by a whisker, but also improves the overall perception.

The biggest changes in the look of the Samsung Note 9 concern the rear panel of the body. The fingerprint scanner is no longer on the same level as the cameras, but below them. Thanks to this decision, it is simpler to find it with your fingers and harder to smudge the lenses of the cameras.

For the construction of the Samsung Note 9, the company has mainly used glass and metal. Thus, in your hands will lie a device with curved at the edges glass panels attached to an aluminum frame that perfectly fits them.

The case itself is protected against moisture and dust to IP68 standard. That is, you can without a drop of worry submerge the Samsung Note 9 to a depth of up to 1.5 meters for about half an hour.

Samsung Note 9 will not disappoint you with its display. The smartphone features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED matrix with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The screen has wide viewing angles, great brightness reserve and good color rendering. The latter can be adjusted in the settings according to your own preferences.

Thanks to the high maximum screen brightness, the Samsung Note 9 can display video in HDR10. You can easily read information from it even on a sunny day.

Under the hood of the Samsung Note 9 lies an Exynos 9810 processor combined with a Mali-G72 MP18 chip, an LTE Cat.18 modem, 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a memory card up to 512 GB. You'll also find a version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

The flagship offers several ways to unlock: fingerprint scanner, eye retina recognition, facial recognition, and more. The former is located on the back of the device, just below the camera unit. It works quickly and precisely.

The Samsung Note 9's owner recognition on the retina of the eye also works well. It is necessary to stand at a maximum distance of 25-35 cm, remove sunglasses or contact lenses.

Another reason to buy the Samsung Note 9 is the S Pen stylus. You can work with it for about 30 minutes, after which you need to recharge it.

Also worth attention is the DeX mode, which transforms the smartphone interface into a desktop.

There are two main cameras in the Samsung Note 9. The first is a 13-megapixel, wide-angle with autofocus, optical stabilization and an aperture that can switch from f/1.5 to f/2.4. The second module is a 12-megapixel telephoto. It is also equipped with autofocus and optical stabilization. Its aperture is constant - f/2.4.

A characteristic feature of the Samsung Note 9 cameras is that they are able to determine the subjects of the frame themselves. There are 20 scenes set: portrait, food, flowers, room, animals, landscape, trees, sky, beach, sunset, sunrise, night, waterfall, birds, etc.

When you shoot with the auto mode, you will get shots with more saturated colors. In good light, you can also count on excellent detail.

The front camera of the Samsung Note 9 is a single, 8-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Autonomous operation

The Samsung Note 9 is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. In comparison, its predecessor had only 3300 mAh. With active use of the phone - calls, emails, messengers, social networks, watching YouTube videos, etc., you can count on up to a day and a half of autonomous work.

The Samsung Note 9 is a worthy representative of the Note series. It offers a large display, a performance platform, quality cameras, a large battery and, of course, an S Pen stylus with interesting capabilities. It deserves to get a place in the heart of fans of this type of smartphones.
