Like the Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy S10+ has water and dust protection. It is IP68 standard. In theory, you can submerge the device in fresh water to a depth of 1.5 meters and keep it there for half an hour. It will survive. However, we don't challenge you to try. You can, however, boldly walk with the Galaxy S10+ in the rain and talk to friends and family. You can even clean its casing under running water. It won't affect its performance.
One of the major innovations in the Galaxy S10+ is the fingerprint scanner. It is located directly in the display. Samsung have opted not for an optical but an ultrasonic scanner. The latter has several advantages, but also disadvantages. On the plus side, the scanner works faster than before, doesn't get confused by moisture or dirt on the fingers, and doesn't need a backlight to work flawlessly. That is, you can use it in the dark and in bright light.
To the disadvantages we must point out that the scanning area of the sensor is not very large. When the display is off, it is not visible. I.e. the user has to get used to the scanner's layout with practice.
The Galaxy S10+ is equipped with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3040 x 1440 pixels. The matrix is one of the best. It has excellent color rendering and viewing angles. The user has a choice between two modes: saturated and natural. In the former, the display demonstrates a wide colour range, while in the latter, a more natural picture.
In this Samsung model, the choice has fallen on an 8nm Exynos 9820 processor based on a three-cluster architecture with 4 power-efficient ARM Cortex A55 cores at 1.95 GHz, 2 ARM Cortex A75 cores at 2.31 GHz and 2 high-performance M4 cores - at 2.73 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by a Mali-G76 MP12 GPU chip. According to Samsung, it is 40% faster than the Mali-G72 that was used in the Galaxy S9+. RAM is 8 GB and internal storage is 128 GB. The ceramic version of the model goes hand in hand with 512 GB.
Samsung has also provided a microSD memory card slot. It is a hybrid, as the user has to choose between using two phone numbers and expanding the storage.
The performance of the Galaxy S10+ is at a level that allows it to handle the most resource-intensive tasks available on an Android-smartphone.
The model runs on the Android 9 operating system with a proprietary One UI 1.1 interface.
There are three main cameras in the smartphone. They are located in a line on the rear panel of the housing. The first module is a 12 MP, telephoto with an aperture of f/2.4, an angle of view of 45 degrees and a pixel size of 1 µm. It is equipped with autofocus and optical stabilization. The second model is 12 MP and is wide-angle. Its aperture ranges from f/1.5-f/2.4 and the angle of view reaches 77 degrees. Here we have Super Speed Dual Pixel autofocus and optical stabilization. The third module is a 16 MP, super-wide-angle - 123 degrees angle of view. The aperture is f/2.2. There is no optical stabilization here.
The quality of photos taken with the telephoto and wide-angle camera of the Galaxy S10+ do not radically differ from the results of its predecessor. The 12-megapixel wide-angle camera allows you to take quality shots in good light levels. The telephoto lens provides double zoom and allows to change the shooting angle. For night shots, the device automatically switches to the wide-angle camera.
The most interesting innovation in the Galaxy S10+'s camera system is the aforementioned ultra-wide-angle module. With its help, more objects are captured. In the daytime, the photos are sufficiently detailed.
In other words, the Galaxy S10+'s main cameras aren't anything revolutionary, but they're advanced enough for you to enjoy perfect photos.
As for the front camera, the unit includes two modules. One is a 10-megapixel wide-angle (80 degrees) with an f/1.9 aperture and a pixel size of 1.22 microns. The second is an 8-megapixel RGB sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. It is used to determine the depth of frame. The front camera shoots decently. It offers a range of effects, including the popular background blur or its dimming.
